...... while we wait.... a few photos.
This location IS NOT up and running yet.

Still no wires run to the transformer; transformer to utility distribution cabinets etc.

Photos from Friday afternoon. 1/26/18.

Plus one photo of the red Model 3 that Kierland Commons has for us to lay our eyes upon, up close and personal.

It will be a while....... this may sound a little odd but....

the doors on the gray distribution cabinets inside the enclosure, open about 110°. One of the three doors must open to 170° to pass an inspection prior to cabling up the distribution cabinets, meter setting etc.

This may... may take a while if a new door and/or hinge has to be ordered to meet this inspection criteria!

now... back to cables etc...

Power did have to be pulled from a new junction box by the theaters— drive over there and you’ll see it—.... but,

from there it went to behind Target then a 90° turn to go to the transformer.

Yes, the cables have been pulled and once the door situation with the distribution cabinets is complied with, electrical connecting can occur.

Then more inspections, Tesla checking, pedestal numbering, switch flipping and we should be good to go!! Soooo my guess is three to four weeks. Again, just a WAG?

Ok, now for a rumor..... Sedona AZ may be under construction. MAYBE?? So.... if you’re out and about in Sedona.... keep yo eyes peeled, you MAY spot some construction activity. Let’s hope so. Rumor to find would be welcome good news:)!!

Here’s a photo of the new connection box by the AMC theaters.

presently living in a rental while house being built and charging with UMC off a dryer plug while car parked outside. I have no garage right now. It is raining. I don't like using UMC with car in rainy driveway. I will be near this site tomorrow after dark and keep hoping it will be up so I can fully charge there. No word yet......it is all about timing!

I wouldnt worry too much about using the charging cable in the rain. There are safety measures in both the cable and car to prevent any damage or electrocution. Even your typical outdoor rated extension chord from a department store is marketed as weatherproof. I've charged my Leaf in the pouring rain and mud countless times and never had a single problem. The J1772 design is clever and safety minded. Im assuming Tesla connector is good as well. Very low chances of arcing, nice water tight tolerances on port, heavy duty insulation on cables. And many modern outlets and circuit breakers are GFCI rated. You should have nothing to worry about...

Don't let the 115v/extension cord part (i.e. the end of the UMC that doesn't plug into the car) submerge though. I came out to a blackened pin on my UMC's plug and the only thing I can assume caused it was that side was down towards the ground and I was gone for a few days where it rained. I'm guessing it shorted something. Still works, but it's ugly.

Just stopped by there today BTW, still no go.
