Supercharger - Riverside, CA (LIVE 28 Dec 2017, 24 urban stalls)

UPDATE: Stopped by today. Confirmed again it is live as of yesterday. I had better luck charging on Slot #1 of 22. The furthest away from charger it kept ramping up to 45Kw and back to 0 and kept doing that over and over....same result about 1/2 way down the chain. Several of the furthest ones have notes on the top about COM check or something. Still doesn't show on the car's map (9th st at market st garage 3rd level)

The Parking fee is $2.00 per 1/2 hr. An hour of charging cost me $4 - the attendant said she was unaware of any ideas that they would somehow waive this for Tesla charging. Also interesting to note normal hours the garage closes at 630pm??! and is currently open until midnight for the festival of lights.

TESLA: you have to work on the parking fee and the hours! Here are some pics attached. I maxed out at 45Kw and it slowly tapered to 18Kw but the car was already at 175 mi charged out of the usual 230 mi (75D AP2 Tesla).

Thanks for the update!
The parking fee may actually address free loaders - when traveling past Riverside, I'd be willing to pay a few bucks for an empty supercharger.
If Qualcomm and SJC charged a nominal fee, they possibly could have become pleasant supercharger stations.

Recent travels to Colorado Springs had me charge at a downtown super charger which was also in a multi story parking structure. When I exited I inquired about people charging and the response was "oh, you charged? You get one hour free". I have heard that other locations inside pay lots do the same thing, but dont know if thats a Tesla perk or the parking lot being friendly to EV's. With the spread of more "Urban" chargers, Im certain pay lots will become the norm. San Diego now shows a 16 charger building permit for a multi level parking structure right in the middle of downtown (6th Street and Ash). Yet to be determined if it will require paying to use it.

Bummer about $10 fee for Festival, which runs 3pm to 11pm daily through Jan 6. I entered parking lot on Thursday before 2pm, and I was charged only normal fee of $4 for less than 1 hour.

Site does not yet display on our cars. It shows as Open on Tesla.com map, but icon is gray, not red. When I visited, the stalls still had the markings noted by Crush:

"Also, take note that there were tape on each of the chargers indicating that they were still awaiting a communications check with Tesla."

Perhaps the Com system is not yet operational, so the status is not displaying on our cars.

The festival is pretty to see at night.

The chargers say 30 min tesla parking so I'm guessing they give you 30 min free in the future. That would be nice. I don't mind paying the parking fee once in a while but I was going to make this a regular stop on my commute...

True, but there are 22! + 2 accessible = 24 spots! I don't think we have to worry too much for a while (until the 3's come!) haha.

BTW Its showing on Telsa.com/supercharger website now!!

The Superchargers on University I believe are at a hotel aka destination chargers. The parking structure is on Market and 9th. I stopped in this morning and the gate arm was up so I plugged in for a few minutes. I only got up to 70mi/hr charge rate but no fee for entry since it was after hours

"Tried it out" at noon today, Sunday, New Year's Day. I was the only vehicle in the building, with 20 charging stations on the top deck, I made a random choice After hooking up to one, noticed a rather slow charging rate. After 15-20 minutes, disconnected and tried another charging station, about the same. It would flick between 69 and 70 mi/hr. Maybe the system is going through a "learning process".
