Supercharger - Temecula, CA (Winchester Rd., LIVE 10 May 2016, 10 V2 stalls)

Andrew B. It is located in what you call the East garage that sits next to Edwards cinema and right behind Lazy Dog Cafe. This garage has one extra floor compared to the one near Macy's, which provides more total spots.
I think access to the main electricity pipe may have to do with the location, the pics don't show but there is big feed going up along the building structure (not an expert and I may be wrong).
Also there is possible plan to expand Temecula Promenade Mall on the south side of Macy's in the future, which I thought would have been the more accessible spot / free space if not for the expansion.

This is a much needed location for those who travel the inland route to San Diego. It may come in handy for those attending Comic-Con. No more need to stop at the Pechanga Resort and Casino to use their free J1772 EVSE parking spots or attempt to use the old downtown Temecula charge stations.

Hopefully it will be completed in time for a nearby Garden Tour: 2016 Garden Tour / May 14 |

During your wine tastings in the area, take time to give a toast to Tesla.

Some new pictures taken last night. The charging assemblies are now all complete, and the site has been tidied up. Ground marking and final inspection would be next. It almost seems to me that opening of this Supercharger site will be happening (very) soon.
Pic 1 is the left side, pic 2 is center corner, pic 3 is the right side. Pic 4 and 5 show the power distributors (notice the trench) with power conduits going up the parking structure (brown painted to match) to the superchargers.

Great update!! thanks. Looks like all ready to open?

Don't expect some of the vehicles to be moved in a timely manner if the driver is enjoying a movie.

Hopefully those using the Superchargers will be considerate and only charge up while dining or shopping before or after a film.

This brings up an interesting twist that Tesla Motors could implement. Valet service for access that would allow employees to move a vehicle out of the crowded Supercharger locations. The Superchargers could remain free for use, but a fee for the valet would be expected or billed directly during the times of controlled access or when a vehicle is "abandoned" and needed to be moved.

Another option at theater locations is for Tesla Motors to install multiple Wall Connectors for those who wish to park for more than 45 minutes.

Looks like it will be a tight fit with how they put the charger between the parking spaces, instead of more parallel to the wall. Maybe they will repaint the stripes?

The valets never take your keys or move your car. They just direct you to an open stall and organize a queue if one should develop.

The article I linked to says "When the driver arrives, they're offered to have a valet park their car until a spot opens up, at which time the employee will pull in and begin charging."

Also, the following thread post indicates "they park and charge for you so you don't have to sit in car to wait for opening": Tesla offers Valet Charging at Fountain Valley Supercharger

Hmmm that's odd. I heard otherwise from Bjorn Nyland in Fountain Valley:

And in this article:

Tesla is rolling out a new valet charging service at Superchargers [Updated]

A Tesla Spokesperson released a statement saying:

Tesla has not launched a valet program however at a few of our busiest California Supercharger stations, we’ve recently developed a system to help improve the customer charging experience. Attendants are stationed seven days a week during peak times, to help ensure a positive charging experience and manage onsite customer demand. The attendants’ primary role is to manage onsite customer demand and feedback however they will not be driving the vehicles or taking the keys”

Interesting, thanks. I was a the SJC Supercharger last year and they had an attendant directing cars. I assumed this was something more, but perhaps not.

Fit will be fine. Marking was done early last week (I was away since and couldn't post last week pics sooner). Notice the red parallel lines of the previous parking spot, and notice the red circle showing the chargers not hooked up. As of Sunday evening though, chargers are hooked up and fence is removed, chargers are still wrapped up.
Soon!

Just stopped by tonight for dinner. Was still all covered up and spaces were roped off.

FYI this location is going to be TERRIBLE for ICE'ing on weekends. When I went today (sunday) at 6pm every spot in the area around the chargers was taken. We can only hope the parking rules are enforced strictly or people will take up all the spots for sure. They have put up signs saying "tesla vehicle charging only" on all the spots.

I also visited yesterday. It took 10 minutes just to wind up to the third level of the parking garage with all of the traffic. Certainly not ideal.

really? every time i've ever been to the promenade all the spots on the higher levels are wide open...in my experience, people can't seem to figure out that they can just go to a higher level and park closer to the elevators and always end up driving ridiculously slow the entire way watching for a spot or waiting for someone to pull out.

There is another thread dealing with Model X and the damage that can occur with low clearances.

After visiting the Temecula Supercharger site on 4/20, IMHO, there are going to be some unhappy Model X owners if the Falcon Wing Doors aren't opened carefully. Everyone else can be careful to watch their rear hatch. Here is the link to my post and photos:

Crunch! Falcon Wing Doors fail to sense obstacle

PS: The red Tesla signs are now posted at each location. Looking good.
