The iPad app is embarrassingly bad…it’s just an iPhone binary. I uninstalled it. Is the Android app on a tablet any better or is it also just a phone binary running on a screen that’s much too big for it as well?
The Android version that I'm currently running on a Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2019) appears to use the tablet's native screen resolution. In other words, it's not a blown-up, pixelated version of what I see on my phone. Here's a screenshot:
My expert opinion is that ... I'm no expert and can only guess that Google somehow has decided that the app is not sufficiently optimized for some tablets (like my Pixel Tablet). I also have a Galaxy Tab A and a Galaxy Tab A7. The app downloads and updates from Google Play with no issues.
I am running the app on my Pixel Tablet (after installing it from the link provided by S&B's M3) and it looks great and works perfectly. Go figure.
