Tesla app?

I am awaiting delivery notification of my model S, and on my account it says to download the
"Tesla app" from Google store/play. I have no success in finding this - any ideas?

Thanks, but I have already tried that several times: it comes back "Your device isn't compatible with this version"!
I have an HTC smartphone.

What Android version are you running? How old is the phone?

It's Android 2.3.5, the phone is probably 10 years old?

You'll need to update or get a new phone, that is an ancient version of Android and not supported any longer.

Thank you for that. Since our phones are only used a couple of times a year I think I will have to do without it! 9And 9 times out of 10 we are out of coverage anyway....)

You may want to get an inexpensive Android phone just to use the Tesla app... even if you never use it to make or receive phone calls. The app allows you to not only lock/unlock the car's doors, but also pop the frunk/trunk, control Charging/Climate/Sentry Mode, schedule service, request roadside assistance, notify you of car events, launch available updates, etc. Even outside of cellphone range, if you have WiFi access, you can use the app.

Yeah, the Tesla app is so useful that you’re likely to want to use the phone far more once the car arrives.

I'd really recommend getting a phone that is compatible with the app. It doesn't have to be fancy at all, a cheap $50 phone nowadays will run circles around an Android 2.x phone.

It communicates through your cellular provider to the car; there is no bluetooth or wifi connection directly to the car.

Well I suppose if your phone and the car are both on the same wifi it'll use that ?? hmm ..

The Tesla app also allows you to remotely heat or cool the car, a really nice feature.
