I could see us beating that only to find Refinitiv or Factset coming out with some BS that the whisper number was actually $1.10.

My last minute projection.

Auto margins decent. Not great, not terrible. Operating Margins improving. Tesla Energy continuing to grow disproportionately with good margins.

Net effect: solid beat.


I don’t have a model. Just my thoughts based on trends in commodities, incentives, volume, and price cuts.

Energy is still a big wildcard.

I’m also going on a limb and will say there will be some significant product news. Highland or Cybertruck is my guess. Might just be a note about production starting this quarter.

They list FX as a headwind and I just don't get it. The dollar was weaker all throughout Q1 verses Q4. FX should have been a tailwind, not a headwind.

The cost of lithium has been decreasing significantly:
November 2022 : 600000$
April 2023 : 180000$

This decline must be one of the reasons why Tesla believes it can lower the prices of their cars.

Well the prices got back there in a quarter. Whether that’s good or bad we will see soon
