I hope you folks know this well-publicized visit to Tulsa is just PR. It creates the appearance the decision is going down to the wire, shows Tulsa some respect and allows Elon to personally convey his thanks for their strong interest.

Terafactory Austin is a done deal. I assume the announcement will happen no later than Battery Day (or perhaps shortly after the tax abatement is approved by Travis County Commissioners Court).

It's highly likely that Austin has won. But there's a long history of commercial sniping of deals like this at the last minute.

Everyone around that table knew the stakes. Elon just by turning up was saying "you've got to give me something amazing to pry the factory from Austin" and the Tulsa delegates by hosting him were saying "we're ready to bend over backwards to make a deal work".

If the factory does go to Tulsa it will do so on a road made of gold.

I can vouch for retiring early if possible. The human body begins an inevitable decline that really begins to impact the quality of life for most in their mid-to-late sixties. And, if retiring early is not possible, at least set aside time to pursue activities and experiences that stir the soul, but require a higher level of energy than the majority of those who retire late have left in reserve. Do not enter your seventies with regret!!!

Advice!

I went to lunch with a friend in his seventies, to my surprise he brought along his dad. His dad was 103 years old. During lunch, my fiend says to his father, dad I’m worried about about you, you’re getting too thin. The fathers snaps back, “when you get to be a hundred, you can talk to me about health. Until then, shut up.”
103 years old, and sharp as a whip. Tall, thin and walked 3 to 4 miles per day. Obviously, extraordinary genetics. That aside, I’ve been walking every day since that lunch.

Sixty Minutes, did a show at the Seal Beach, California “Leisure World,” a retirement community. During the show, they interviewed folks over the age of 100. They all drank one or two cups of coffee per day, not three. They all drank one or two cocktails per day, not three. They were all romantically involved,

Medical technologies are advancing at an astonishing pace. So, practice moderation, and go for a walk each day with the love of your life. You may live longer than you expect.

I don’t like to give advice, but this is my best.

Strictly speaking, I'm healthier in my seventies than I was in my sixties.

They seem to be eating/drinking in that picture - difficult to do while wearing a mask. Is that his mask on his arm, looks like he removed it just for having a snack. Also, Musk is clearly > 6 feet away from others, so he is socially distancing. My 2 cents, Musk is taking precautions without going overboard.

If you zoom in you will see that there is another person next to Musk. That is not a mask on his arm, it is the T-shirt of the person Musk is covering up in the photo :)

Correct. And given the vitriol by some 'tabloid journalists', (Lora, you listening), I expect some more FUD where no FUD should exist.

(Sorry, just having my morning coffee)

I know exactly what you are talking about. The FUD and personal attacks over the past few days have become obnoxiously bad. You really have to wonder how deep that circle is smh. Shorts are now moving on to Q3 “demand issues”.

Stock split might not just give an opportunity for retail investors to buy TSLA but also bring new shorts into the mix. Let’s get it done. In the meantime I will keep selling puts to shorts.

HAHA. Awesome. I cannot imagine a more boneheaded move on their part. Yup, the worlds most valuable (arguable most stable in terms of future buyer-support) car company, that has never spent a single penny on advertising, and keeps raising the price of its world-leading autopilot software has demand issues, as factory #2 ramps up and factory #3 starts construction with factory #4 about to be announced. Yup, makes total sense. What geniuses.

As we're talking about getting old and retiring. Quite a few of us aren't in our youth any more. I turned 54 a few weeks back, so don't consider myself old. I can't remember the last time I was sick, I'm super-fit and healthy, never felt better.

One of the most important things as you age is to retain muscle-mass and not succumb to sarcopenia - muscle wasting. As soon as you lose it, you go downhill very quickly.

So resistance training is a must - lift heavy things, regularly! Move a lot too, not necessarily vigorously, but just plenty of it. I have my Apple Watch movement ring set to 1000 active calories and I close all three rings daily. Keep active. Lift. Have a circle of friends. Socialise. Drink a little bit. And have a passion for at least something. Get outside in the sun every day.

Eat well. Regardless of whether you're carnivore or vegan, avoid processed foods. Cut out sugar, refined carbohydrates (flour) and industrial seed-oils (PUFA's) - note that most junk food is primarily made from these three cheap and deadly ingredients. Eat good fats, mono and saturated, fish and eggs, butter, etc. The body desperately needs fats and cholesterol, your brain and cell membranes are made of fats. If you're vegan, please supplement for the stuff you're missing.

That's it. Simple.

Good advice! And one more: don't spend too much time sitting behind a computer or phone scanning the TMC investor thread. Muscle atrophy guaranteed. So I just went to lift weights at the gym, which has finally reopened.

tinm:- "No, you put on a mask before meeting with these Okie oil-and-gas climate-denying nincompoops and you cordially give them some of your time and you say a few pleasant words and then you get back in your vehicle and have your driver hand you the maximum strength Purell and as you disinfect from fingertips to elbows, the driver makes a beeline for the Gulfstream, already taxi’ed into position and holding at the end of the runway, where you hop out of the car, toss the mask on the tarmac, climb up the steps of the Gulfstream, secure the door, lean into the cockpit, and tell the pilot, “punch it” then collapse in your chair, fasten the seatbelt, and as the two engines reach max thrust, you grab your phone, speed-dial the team working Austin and tell them to get that deal done even sooner .."

.. whilst saying "goddamnit wheres my whisky"

This terafactory is so pivotal to Tesla's long term future there isn't any amount of money Oklahoma could pay to make it worth changing Elon's mind.

I like your confidence. The only potential etron in the punch bowl is the Texas Automobile Dealers Association. They are terrified of Tesla and have a lot of influence in the state legislature. I have to think that Elon will demand change in the sales restriction laws, and they will fight it. Gov Abbott needs to step up.

Clearly 6 feet away eh? ;)

"If the Governments don't put infinite money into the OEMs, there will be OEMs going out of business"

I had the pleasure to have been invited from a former Automotive Executive for hosting an interview and put it online yesterday.

Peter Mertens worked for Audi, Volkswagen, Mercedes Benz, Volvo, GM, and Jaguar Landrover. A true Veteran who knows and is connected with the whos who in the industry.

Why is that relevant for a Tesla investor? Because he talks a lot about Tesla, Battery Technology, Autonomous driving, and GF Berlin.

I received an interview request from another Automotive Executive and will interview him in 10 days.

Time will tell if that is the beginning of an Automotive Manager Interview series.

10:15 “ (…) at the end it’s gonna be software that matters”
13:49 “There is Mercedes joining forces with Nvidia and guess what, they develop an operating system, okay? Interesting. I mean - very interesting” (Irony)
40:37 (E-tron) “this was a quick reaction on – Gosh, we sort of missed the train”
42:50 “and also a much, much better car than the Tesla X, Model X I think is - that is sub-standard versus the E-tron”
53:33 “We made a mistake in not investing in that technology”
1:02 “somebody has to pay the bills”
