Bingo. Unfortunately some of the folks that really need to (or would be nice to) get behind Tesla are also anti-mega corporations and/or billionaires. This is why there is an anti-Tesla bent within progressive journalism circles.
While billionaire owners of the media (mostly right-wing types) are certainly behind some of the anti-Tesla bias in the media and blatant hit pieces, I think the more subtle anti-Tesla bias that comes from progressive journalists is easier to explain. It's simply that journalists tend not to buy new cars (for obvious economic reasons), so when Tesla releases ultra-cool cars that check all their boxes (except for their ability to reasonably afford one) it is super difficult. Because it hard to really want something that you know you can't really afford. Journalists buy used Toyotas, Nissans, Kias, etc. and they are often stretching their budgets to pay $10K.
I suspect the price went up a little and then many people assumed that and it snowballed. This happens ever time between close and earnings, sometimes a spike sometimes a drop.
