Text Messages from Wrong person

Has anyone else been getting a text message from X person, but then the Tesla shows a completely different text from Y person?

The Tesla has been showing/reading me text messages from a person I haven't sent a text to in months. It's very odd.

Dang, my wife was just telling me this about her Y and I was like you’re joking with me. Now I have to tell her it’s not just her dang android phone.

She’s got an S10 with probably the latest OS but a 3rd patty texting app. The Model Y is on 2020.20.12

She said she’ll receive a “new” text from someone but it’ll show up on the screen as someone else from ages ago, like last year.

Very similar situation. I have an S10+ with the latest update. Using Google Messages app. MY is on 2020.20.12

Hopefully it’s fixed in the new update 2020.24.6.1 which our Model is still waiting on like yours I guess. I haven’t seen anyone post about this on the Model page. Weird that it’s the same phone too!

This problem has actually gone on for a long time. It is in my Son's M3 he bought over a year ago. Also is in my MY, so it is something they are not addressing (or know about yet). I will try to capture it on video, but as people have said it is very sporadic. I am on latest Tesla and latest Samsung 10+ firmware.

in my case, it displays a very old message sometimes. I wonder if it's an issue with the car or the Tesla app?

(I'm OnePlus 6 BTW, not Samsung)

Seems to be, it’s probably something to do with Android and the providers embracing RCS in different parts of their network

No RCS here yet.. and the messages it finds are from years ago

I've had the same problem. I have a samsung 20+.I fixed it by deleting all my old text messages and starting over. No problems since.

I just deleted them but I would think archiving would do it.

Brand new MY, S20+ here. Seems like the two don't play well together. However, hubby's M3 with the S20+ isn't having this issue...

I deleted all the early text from the people who I got the erroneous texts from and that stopped it. Definitely a weird one!

MS Raven with Pixel 4 and 5. Same issue, shows old text message any time a new message is received. Totally different person, day, time, sometimes from a couple years ago.
