The list of cars with 0-60 in 2.6s or less; Why the P90DL is such a great value in c

The latest update (Launch Mode) is what Motor Trend had access to when they tested the P90D with Ludicrous mode and recorded 2.6s 0-60. Assuming that tested time is accurate and replicable in ideal conditions, the P90DL is now tied for 6th fastest production car, & can achieve 2.6s for as little as $110K after tax credit (using the designer I just chose the options for ludicrous mode & the 90kwh battery upgrade).

While some consider that to be expensive and complain about horsepower claims or 1/4th mile time (which probably is under 11s now with launch mode), if you put that in perspective it's much cheaper than the 2-door supercars with comparable performance.

Base cost of the ONLY cars under 2.7 secs (likely the others cost much more for performance upgrade options to achieve their best acceleration; also consider sales tax, insurance & maintenance/repairs would be much more costly as price goes up) are:

Tesla P90DL $110.5K, 2.6s
Audi R8 V10 Plus $174K, 2.6s
Porsche 911 Turbo S $183k, 2.5s
Lamborghini Huracan $237k, 2.5s
Porsche 918 Spyder $845K, 2.2s
McLaren P1 $1.4M, 2.6s
LaFerrari $1.4M, 2.4s
Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport $4M, 2.5s

Considering the features Tesla has that none of the others offer (large space of a sedan with more seats & storage, 17" touchscreen with 4G LTE connection and browser, Over the Air updates that improve the car over time, fully electric for instant torque, silent operation and no need for gas, and of course Autopilot which makes it the ONLY current production car that can steer itself extended periods of time), if money was no object I would choose the P90DL over any of those other cars in a heartbeat!
