With the “bundle of wires” and a different part number ECU. Not the same.CCS upgrades have been done DIY by many as they refused to wait for this retrofit.
I didn’t say it wouldn’t work, just my tech couldn’t get it to work without toolbox.

For those of you who already own the CCS Combo 1 adapter and are interested in purchasing just the official retrofit ECU (PN 1537264-09-B). Or those who (like me) have done the unofficial retrofit "A bundle of wires with a board" and are interested in upgrading to the official retrofit without a bundle of wires:I'm curious to know if the retrofit portion of the kit can be purchased directly from the service center without the adapter. If anyone obtains the part number on the harness, please let us know!
This item shown in your picture is the gen 4 chargeport ECU which enables CCS charging on cars from mid-2021 and newer. If used on an older car, it will require the bundle on wires adapter. For cars 2017-2021, the OEM ECU that is included in the retrofit adapter bundle is 1537264-09-B and currently not being sold separately (per users in this thread).I stopped at my local service center and purchased just the CCS board for $149.45 with tax. It took them a few minutes to track down the part and confirm I could install it myself. It probably also helped I've gotten to know the people at my service center and it was at the end of the day when they were slow.
Bummer. Will have to take this back. I just want the board...This item shown in your picture is the gen 4 chargeport ECU which enables CCS charging on cars from mid-2021 and newer. Maybe a few, but it really seems to be Tesla policy to hang onto any old parts they can.I decided to pull the trigger on the retrofit ECU + adapter combo since I was unable to purchase the ECU separately. Some pics of the board for any of the charging geeks out there. It's a much smaller footprint than the original ECU, only taking up about half of the plastic casing.

I was a bit disappointed when I went to look for my original factory ECU and realized the tech left with it. I called him up to ask for it back and he tried to play dumb stating he thinks he is supposed to take it back to Tesla. I could hear the nervousness in his voice. I reminded him that this was untrue and he brought it back to me. Sadly, I bet many of these techs are keeping used parts for themselves from unknowing Tesla customers and making a side hustle out of it.

It works on the newer Model 3s, not the older ones. The older cars have a different part number: 1092755-98-D:I never did get an answer how they would make P1537264-00-B work in a Model 3. When the parts guy typed 1537264-09-B, the board in the CCS kit, into their system he said the part number flipped back to P1537264-00-B.
What's considered a newer model 3?It works on the newer Model 3s, not the older ones. The older cars have a different part number: 1092755-98-D:

But I don't think it supports CCS/NACS. Currently, the only way to get that one is via the retrofit kit.
I don't know the exact cut-off. I think somewhere in the 2020 to 2021 timeframe.What's considered a newer model 3?
Actually somewhere in mid to late 2019 as I recall.I don't know the exact cut-off. I think somewhere in the 2020 to 2021 timeframe.

Wasn't it when the Model 3 came with the "chrome delete" feature from the factory? That's my understanding of how to visually determine, to some extent, if it's a Gen3 or Gen4 model. So that's pre-2020???Actually somewhere in mid to late 2019 as I recall.
I went back to find @FalconFour's writeup on the DIY retrofit and he says Oct 2020, so I assume that's the cutoff.Wasn't it when the Model 3 came with the "chrome delete" feature from the factory?
