Driving along the 403 to Mississauga this morning and keeping away from large trucks, when I hear a loud CRACK! This one won’t just fix at a repair place. Bummer!

The cost of ownership with any car. Probable will replace the wiper arm too. At Excellence Auto. Apparently Tesla no longer does windshields here.

Was the wiper arm damaged? The crack doesn't look anywhere near the wiper arm. I can't imagine it damaged the motor too.

Oh so slight nick on it but the estimator put is in. $225 part. I would’ve just touched it up with a black sharpie.

I was stunned at how quick the process was with CAA Insurance. I uploaded my pics and estimate from Excellence Auto Collision and the next day, I had approval. Great user experience. Their rates are pretty good for GTA folks. Highly recommend.

Falls under comprehensive. Still a deductible to pay. Is there such an option?

From what I've read there is a Full Glass Coverage option for some companies.
Never asked my insurance about it maybe someone here can comment about it.

What's the breakdown of that - what specific parts, labour? I doubt you need to go to Tesla - just like with tires and brakes, they are rarely the cheapest place and there's nothing that unique a pro can't handle it.

Interesting update. It seems that my replacement windshield needs to be shipped from California apparently. It won’t be shipping out until the 18th of the month, and that is being transported by land. This seems to be unusually long.

Any opinions?

Guessing they are getting an OEM windshield vs an aftermarket, I got an aftermarket one installed.

My Model 3 windshield cracked as well. I have an estimate from Tesla to replace it that comes up to $2,010 after tax
