Okay. Kind of a dumb question but wanted member best guessws. I originally ordered 90d with free supercharging and then saw the 100d and cancelled. Logic is that two places I drive to are 310 mile round trip from home. Now I had told this to tesla sales team as a concern with 90d and they didn't call me and make me aware of 100d. So I put them in penalty box for unsportsmanlike conduct and didn't order 100d right away. I read in a forum that in March there is likely to be several improvements like HUD so was thinking of waiting until then to order but I really want car in April. Any guesses on next batch and timing of improvements?

Anything claiming March for the next improvements is pure speculation. With the way Tesla operates, no matter when you order your car they'll make a change in the next 3 months that you'll wish you'd waited for. If you keep holding off and holding off on the possibility that a change you might want is coming, then you'll never buy.
Is the car that's available right now the car you want? Order it and enjoy the hell out of it.
Especially if you want the car by April. Wait until this hypothetical March announcement and you almost certainly won't get it by April.
Also: Though I'm lacking information here, putting the Tesla sales team "in the penalty box" for not telling you about an upgrade they didn't know was coming — Tesla does not ever communicate this stuff to sales staff in advance — wasn't reasonable.

Are you sure you could make that 310 mile trip that on a single charge anyway? You probably would have been happy with the 90D.
For example, using Tesla's calculator (Model S | Tesla) (and guessing that your trip involves some interstate highway travel): at 70mph, 70F outside, AC on, the 100D is rated at 301 miles.
I totally agree with @Derek Kessler. Unless there has been an official Tesla announcement of availability of new features (along with an exact date), it's entirely speculation and not helpful to guess the timing. My wife and I decided in November 2016 to just buy a 90D, knowing that new features would show up, so we could enjoy the car now rather than a hypothetical car that might eventually be available. We enjoy the car every day and are very glad we did.
X2, 90D or 100D you will still have to make a stop and get a charge. Real world driving will yield you much lower than stated range. I have also learned this with Tesla.....There is never a good time to buy one. Regardless of how long you wait there will always be something newer a few months later. If you wait you will be waiting forever because they dont seen to slow down on changes.

You should have stayed with the 90D. It's unlikely you'll make a round trip of 310 with the 100D. Even if you do, why drain the battery so low and be on the verge of range anxiety.

Even when Elon gave a specific timeline that 100D would come out "several months" after P100D, you still had to wait more than 5 months.
Like others already said, if you want to wait it might be a long time from now because there's always something new in Tesla.
Thanks. I didnt realize I had no shot at 310 with a 335 range. If I had, I would have taken the free supercharging. I have no idea what a 2.0 car is and why a discount would be so much as I was only offered 2k for a 90d with 169 miles....so clearly a newbie to all of this. It does make me want to continue to hit the snooze button.
2.0 car has the new AP (auto pilot) hardware. Tesla made, not mobileeye.
Disadvantages of 2.0 - it really doesn't do much yet. It's kinda "in development"...
Advantages of 2.0 - it's the future and should have more capabilities. If you believe they can deliver.
They are discounting AP 1.0 cars to move them. They are a perfectly capable car and would have supercharging.

Hmm... OK, as an IT Guy I have a problem with the use of the term "vaporware" as it relates to Tesla and AutoPilot.

For the additional $3K, the 100D gets 40 miles more range - which is significant.
Tesla is providing 400 kwh/year of free charging, because most owners use less than that. Unless you do a lot of long distance driving (stopping at superchargers often) or plan to take very long road trips each year, it's possible the supercharger fees will be small over the life of your car - and not a big deal.
It is possible Tesla may announce something new for the Model S/X family around the time of the Model 3 reveal (March?). If the Model 3 gets ultrafast supercharging (supercharger V3), it's likely they would announce that feature also for the Model S/X (and not risk killing sales of their higher priced cars).
We have been waiting for the longer range 100D - and placed our order the first day it was available. And now that the 100D is available for only an additional $3K, it seems likely few Model S/X are being ordered now with the 90D.
So cancelling your 90D for a 100D may be a good strategy - and if you are like most Tesla drivers, the loss of the unlimited free long distance charging probably won't be a big deal.
And, Tesla appears to be on track to deliver at least some of the 100Ds this quarter.

That is a very good question. And hopefully if SC V3 is announced for Model 3, Tesla will announce that "by the way, Model S/X with the 100 battery packs also support SC V3"...

Hate to break it to you @doublebo7 but none of us in the US were able to upgrade our cars from 90D to 100D without losing something. For all it would at least have been the Free Unlimited Super Charging. For others it would have been that plus an additional $500 (and the vent seats). For me since my car was so close to being done I would have had to cancel the whole thing and forfeit my entire deposit and order again. That sounds like where you are as well.

ITG, yes you could be right, my reply from yet a different DS at tesla, "My colleague Farah is correct in that the batteries are attached to the car in Tilburg however your car already has its battery sourced, allocated and is in shipment with your car"
I am now at the point of cancelling the whole order based on many frustrating issues. I first placed my deposit in Jan 2015 and have patiently waited until June 2016 to spec the car and eventual delivery in March 2017.
To be told that it's not possible to upgrade (eventhough store sales people said I could) has confirmed that tesla has little interest to satisfy the customer.
I am not a fan of that attitude and would rather abandon any association, I shall also try to pursue a refund of my $5000 deposit
