Zip ties...LOL......they could *fix* the problem by simply using an actual *switch* for the ignition - the way all cars used to be, like 5 years ago!

Anyone can have a dramatic crash in any car for a number of reasons due to panic, lack of famiarity, whatever...
But the problem with the Prius and other push-button start vehicles is not the means by which the car is started or stopped, it's a problem with the driver. There are no less than 3-4 ways that the care could have been stopped/disabled, but you can't account for panic and ignorance in every case.
I should add...there are already 2 very adequate hooks for the OEM car mat..if the driver chooses to use them.
