This was brought up a year or two ago. Tesla never used to account for FSD as they claimed it didn’t cost them anything. However, it was put to Musk who stated they would start adding a consideration for FSD on trade-in cars. How much that is, no idea. Really, it should be the full amount paid for it, but there’s no chance of that happening!
To be fair almost all options on all cars lose almost all their value on the second hand market. There is a reason why people like WBAC don't even ask about most options.
In this case it really is worth nothing to Tesla since they can litterally add it to almost any car for nothing.
They have only started offering money back on trade in for the optics. Offering nothing back on something that Tesla said would make your car an "appreciating asset" just looks really really bad.
Offering 100% back on trade in might actually be a good move. It would be a kin to allowing transfer between cars and would probably hugely increase take up and maybe brand loyalty. Might even pay for itself..
