Updated Towing Capacity (2021)

I thought I saw somewhere it was the same.

I think the limit isn’t the car itself, but the funky hitch (tow bar). They even have absurdly low specs for bike rack hitches etc.

Be nice if the Model S offered a hitch. You know it’s perfectly just as capable. That’s the main reason I got the X over an S.

Per the web site, towing capacity is 5000 lbs.

As with most towing setups you run out of cargo capacity before trailer weight. Adding 500lbs hitch weight leaves only a few hundred pounds of passenger and cargo capacity. Upping the trailer weight rating wouldn't do much good for most unless you'll be the only one in the car.

This is EXACTLY why I have an X instead of an S. Only reason.
