Here is where you can find which vehicles placed in service starting April 18, 2023 qualify for how much of the US Clean Vehicle Tax Credit:

The 2023 Model 3 qualifies for $3,750 for the RWD version and $7,500 for the Performance version.

I'd bet its due to the Chinese sourced LFP battery vs US sourced NCA in the Performance. I'd think the LR qualifies too if this is the case.

It will presumably qualify if/when Tesla decides to sell it again as it uses the same battery as the M3P, but you can’t buy one now so it doesn’t matter.

Ok, so if I wanted to buy a new Model 3 Perf ed. and the price is bellow $55k, I can get up to the full $7.5k in tax credit if I meet the other guidelines? So if the MSRP is 54990. I'm safe? AND afterwards I could purchase the Enhanced Autopilot for $6k. That way the car wouldn't show the MSRP being above the $55k limit?

You can even buy it when you buy the car, software is specifically excluded from the purchase price for tax credit purposes.

Correct. Considering going this route over buying a used model 3 Performance. I wanted full FSD for future proofing but not for 15k so that’s stopping me from ordering a new one.
