WA State EV Sales Tax Exemption Updated

Got my WA exemption on today’s delivery. Tesla did all paperwork and my final total correctly reflected the credit. Delivery specialist said WA is getting close to their cap on this credit, thought it would be used up in less than 30 days.
Yeah, I've been wondering if the Model 3 purchases would accelerate these next couple months well beyond the sale averages we've seen so far. I think an extension to the program is the only hope for most of us non-owners. At least that is looking good. Hopefully there is no gap if it passes.

Hi Steve, Any chance we can get together some time so that I can see your car and drool (not on the car of course). I am in Hockinson but can drive to meet you at the supercharger or anywhere in Clark county.

I expect you get many of these requests.

Thanks,
Dan

How about a meet up at the new VANCOUVER WA Supercharger.

Is your car blue?
My wife said she saw a Blue Model 3 today around 4pm on 20th Street in Camas near the indoor Tennis Courts

Good to know. So we're thinking about trading in our Nissan Leaf - the trade-in value offered by Tesla is $15'000.

We also have a $56k build price.

With the trade-in, would that mean our WA Sales Tax is calculated as: ($56k - $15k - $32k) * ~10% = ($9000 * 10%) = ~$900 ?

To follow up - yes, with the $15k trade in, the total tax came out to about $900.

So if this bill passes (gets extended) and I buy a model 3 for $46,000 or $55,000 then I only pay sales tax on $46,000-$32,000 ($14,000) or $55,000-$32000 ($23,000) or do I have to keep the price under $42,000 to get the sales tax exemption?

MSRP of the base vehicle below $42K can get up to $32K of sales tax exemption. The model 3 fits the bill and is listed as compliant on the WA state website WA State Licensing (DOL) Official Site: Alternative Fuel Vehicles and Plug-In Hybrids Washington State Tax Exemptions
