It's a trap. I'd wait until I see the VIN.

It is definitely a trap. I got that text in mid December when my EDD was Dec14-31. Never got the car, and apparently every time I had to renew the trade in offer (2 extra times now), it was delaying my order. No harm in waiting until you actually see the VIN first.

EDD changed to 03/19-03/31 - looks like I moved to a 2 week window in EOQ push

Updated EDD this morning like always day after window starts. Was kind of expecting to narrow down again but pushed out and longer sadly:

"around same order date" ... 9/24 vs 11/21? That's like an eternity in Tesla time.

EDD moved again. Going to claim "false flag" regarding the text asking about a trade-in, as an indicator of impending VIN assignment, after receiving the same text on 2/17.

I probably mis-read, I thought it was 11/24. My EDD moved today to 5/20-6/17.

So dumb question for you all. I just got a text from Tesla for trade in info. I have a trade in but I don't want them to know that until I get a VIN number. Do I just tell them I don't have a trade in?

If I could do it all over again I would have never told them about a trade in. Seems like it did nothing but kick me to the back of the line and I'm still waiting. Ended up deleting it once their first offer expired.

How long after the trade in text did you guys get a VIN number? Is this a good sign or does it not really make a difference?
