What if the rear wheel covers are transparent so that the wheels are still visible?

Going back to the Bond/Lotus theme - the 1977 Éclat

I like that last one although I also like the styling of the Australian Immortus solar car, they used completely hidden wheels, but with fake wheels/tires just to retain the style elements.
Rather like the nosecone on the model S

It's funny how people have a hard time accepting a complete change, and would rather have fake wheels, grill, etc than to just do away with them when it would make a better car. I'm ok with going radically different. I'd be ok with having a completely smooth car if it meant getting extra range.

That said, with Chevy launching a $37,500 EV that gets over 200 miles range and looks pretty much like a normal Honda Fit, I'd hope Tesla, with all it's EV engineering experience, the gigafactory for batteries and no fear of radical designs, could give us a $35,000 car with 300+ miles with an extreme aero design.
