The reality is that sometimes cars can have manufacturing issues (bad wiring/grounds/etc...) which is why lemon laws exist. If this was truly a demo car (and I have my doubts seeing as there was aftermarket tint on the back window), it's possible it was a buyback for the exact issue you are mentioning.
I'd be interested in any prior service history the car has. Also, how many miles are on the car?
Finally - if a technician took your car home for the night only to drive back in the morning, I think that's reasonable for an extended troubleshooting road test and should not be cause for concern.
