When do you get first contact from DS?

Order confirmed on 6/15 for my MX P90DL. It's July now and still haven't heard from anyone at Tesla. I did get a 117XX VIN though...

My Tesla page also shows that a delivery specialist hasn't been assigned. Is this lack of assignment abnormal? What is the best way to go about getting one assigned?
 
In my case DS name was on "My Tesla" page as soon as VIN was assigned.
When was first contact made? Good question. I sent an introductory email, and he responded pretty much immediately. I suspect however that without that email I wouldn't have heard anything until they needed something of me.. Like $$ or some idea of calendar fixtures like out of town travel that might impact delivery.
 
I got DS contact when I was assigned the VIN. Don't expect to hear from them even after that. You will get your first email from DS, when your car will get it's first production schedule. Still, there will be no guarantee, it will start production the given date. I was told, my model X was to go in production on the week of June 20th. Nor, I haven't heard anything yet, neither "My Tesla" page reflect anything. I am still excited though!! I hope, I will get it in late July or early August, as I was told in the first and only email by my DS. Any emails I have sent were gone in trash, as I have never received any reply back. So, It depends on DS. Some are good responding and some aren't. Hopefully, your DS is more efficient staying in touch. Good Luck!!
 
My 90D confirmed on 6/18, vin#122xx, but apparently vin order doesn't mean anything anymore. My DS emailed me 6/24 about my production window being assigned to August, consistent with info when I ordered. I also emailed her a question last Sunday morning and heard back within 2 hours. I was kind of testing her since it seems people have pretty varied experiences with their DS.

As for your DS not being assigned, were you working with a local Tesla store? If so, I'd check in with your contact there.

Agree with this. My salesmen gave me the name and number of my DS about a week after confirmation. The DS called me about a week or two after that to introduce himself.
 
MyDS emailed me the day after I ordered, before the order even confirmed. She has been incredibly responsive. She usually returns my emails within 2 hours, even whe I'm crabby about getting bumped from July to August with estimated production.
 
I got a call from the DS that same day my order was confirmed and VIN showed up in My Tesla page. We talked about my vacation schedule so she can schedule our delivery around that. Not a whole lot of communication after that. Every time I email her a question, she normally will either call or email back the same day.

I did do a test drive and initial config at the store, so maybe this is the case. I will contact the store to see what they say.
