Where can I buy HEPA filter without the housing?

So I went to my local service center today to purchase a HEPA filter for my model X, it was $220, then they brought out the filter with the entire plastic housing it goes in. They said they don’t sell the filter without the housing, No wonder it cost $220. Does anyone know where I can buy just the filter?

The problem is that the only filter on Amazon (of the size we need for the Model X, shown here https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0779WGQWQ/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_-oLCFbR3ZD17B ) is not actually a HEPA filter, although it does have activated carbon (but this isn't needed since the smaller filter behind the glove box already has it).

I wonder if anyone has considered using a standard household HEPA filter instead of the expensive one offered by Tesla? For example, Home Depot offers several 12x20 HEPA filters (of which you would need two, to cover the overall 12x40 frame).

BTW, after looking around for both the large HEPA and smaller activated carbon filters, I found that the official Tesla cabin air filter (part 1039042-00-B) is actually cheaper than the aftermarket parts sold on Amazon, you just need to go to a Tesla service facility to pick one up.

If you want the Tesla filter, you have to buy the Tesla filter. It isn't just HEPA, either. If you read through that thread, you'll see additional discussion beyond that tweet about what the filter consists of and how it works.
