X: What's your 90%?

Was 233 new... for about a month, 6 months and 8,500 miles later it is 222. Does that mean I am going to lose 20 miles range per year?

That sounds low. My P90D, with 12,000 miles - 90% is 226 (occasionally 228). Your drop sounds unusual. From other posts, you might try "rebalancing" the batteries by running them down to 10 miles or so and then charging to 100%. Others have reported regaining most, if not all, of their "lost" range by doing this.

Here's an odd but sad update. My 90D started at 236 from the factory at 90 percent. It has been declining from 236 to 223 over 7300 miles. After talking to the service center, they tested the battery by charging up to 100 percent but left it over night for hours at 100 percent (249 btw). That charge immediately dropped my range to 219. SMH.

90D with 15K~ mi.

When New stats: 90% 237mi 100% 261 mi.

Noticed reduced mileage @90 recently and balanced that battery pack. Below is what I got:

Charged from 2% to 100% - car took 80Kwh. Rated mileage was down to 251. My current 90% is 227mi.

Hopefully this it the initial 0-10K miles degradation of a new battery and it will not progress going forward.

These numbers and the drop kill me and make me second guess upgrading my S to a new X with the 90kw pack. I ordered my S with the 85 pack even though the 90 was available then and 1 year and 20k miles my 90% has gone from 245 to 241.4. 100% when new was 270 and a couple months ago when I did a full charge it was 267. I know this is off topic for this thread but just tossing it out for a comparison of the packs. I am still wanting to get an X but hope I don't end up regretting it later and having my range fall off like mad.

I'm just over 5000 miles now and my 90% is 232-233. I'm definitely surprised to hear about the consistent battery degradation within the first 10-12k miles from all the owners that have posted on this thread. I've only Supercharged twice thus far, mostly always been charging at home. I would definitely be interested in hearing if there is any correlation between charging habits (i.e. more Supercharging vs. not...general charging frequency) and battery degradation.

Same here, 232 with almost 5k miles too.

Was 236 new, then 234, 232 for couple weeks now.

I'm ok with 231-233 as it's 90% of the 257 EPA 100% rating I bought but don't want to drop below... know it's not real mileage anyway (more like 200 on a full charge seems)...

I think things might be a bit confused here. The 90 battery is rated at 257 (250) and 90% is 231 (225) with the P version in parentheses. My understanding is that you can expect about a 5% drop during the first 20k miles and then it levels off and stays at that level for an undetermined amount of time.
My 90% is currently at 214 which is a drop of 4.4% and mileage is just over 10k. It seems to be leveling off and hopefully will not go to much lower and stay around 213. If you guys are getting around 230, you are doing better than expected, so relax and enjoy your ride. (The warranty will cover any catastrophic drop in capacity.)

So I took my own advice and "rebalanced" - ran it down to 5% and recharged to 100%. No change. 90% is 226, 100% is 251. Currently at 13,500 miles with virtually no change since new.
