OK I just got this new to me 2020 MYP and LOVE it. Have had it for a few weeks now and blown away by the acceleration. As with any car I own, Id love to mod it so I need some suggestions ...

Tow hitch - I plan to use it to tow a small harbor freight trailer with a few dirtbikes, maybe a kayak, and also use a 1UP bike rack. Was looking at Ecohitch, Uhaul, or OEM. Ive got a full shop and am used to turning wrenches so home installation wont be an issue for me. Its also preferred since Id hate to lose AP while towing a small trailer around. I went ahead and ordered Ecohitch from Teslarati however its been 2 weeks and Ive never heard anything back from them. Is this a decent vendor ? I may cancel and just go with Uhaul, or even install a Tesla OEM hitch I found used. I picked the Ecohitch since I like how it retains the crash bar while other 2 options dont. The Uhaul and OEM version seem similar except I like the OEM version wire connector better. Has anyone installed OEM hitch themselves and plugged into existing wire harness WITHOUT updating to the tow software ? Is this even possible ?

Other mods I was considering were the RPM (or even CMST) carbon (look) front splitter, rear diffuser, wing, mirror caps, steering wheel. Anyone with any experience with this stuff let me know. Also, Mr Emblem has an awesome carbon steering wheel - any reviews on that ?

Lowering - Id love the car to sit about 1" lower. Any suggestions here ? Full coil overs from unplugged ? Or perhaps just their "moderate" springs ? Has anyone gone this route and have any input ? If lowered 1" would I need to correct camber/toe more than the factory adjustment (buy adj toe bars) ? Would lowering springs on OEM shocks create a bouncing ride ?

What other mods should I be thinking about ? Already looking to tint the roof pretty deep, as well as windshield to 50 or 60%. Has anyone tinted headlights or tail lights ? I like the look of the white headlights so may leave those as is (plus I would hate to dim them any). The rear tail lights look like they came off a Camry so I gotta darken those, ditto for the rear bumper reflectors.

Sound system - I know this sounds ridiculous as this easily the BEST OEM sound system Ive heard in a car yet but is there any not super $$ mods that would make it even better ?

Radar detector / laser shifter - anyone tackle this yet ? Was looking hard at the Escort Redline 360c and maybe the AL Priority systems for this. I know there is no integration for waze police locations, is there a good iphone mount to the side of the screen that would also charge the phone?

As always, any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated. Cool puddle lights or other interior lighting ?

Buying this car has resulted in 2 solids weeks of internet surfing at work ;) I better get back to work but this car is so awesome its hard to not wana figure out more ways to customize it !

Welcome to the Deep Blue MYP Club 😁

I've done Xpel Prime XR+ (doors, hatch, sunstrip, going to go back for a clear roof tint [for heat reduction]. If you're looking for a tint place (with good prices) the place I got mine done also has an Atlanta location, Window Tinting and Paint Protection | Universal Tint Pros. They also got a 9yr ceramic coat, that has an amazing price, so I'm going back soon to get that done as well.

Also, on the headlights, Xpel has a product that you can use to tint the headlights (and reflectors), RPMTesla sells precut pieces. I didn't ask Universal Tint Pros if they could do it, but I probably will when I go back. As I'm going for kind of a blue stealth look myself, I've already blacked out the badges.

I installed OEM Mudflaps on the front, which seem to work alright (though, a lot of people complain about them), but recently ordered Rally Armor Mudflaps (for all around), I'll give a review of those when I get them.

The sound system is great, personally I wish it had some deep bass (not much more, but some more).

Definitely get all the interior trays and what not, I personally like the Tesla Accessories because the felt is nicer and the plastic is a bit thicker. I do love the hidden compartment you can get for the armrest (not a Tesla branded accessory).

I'm not a fan of the wood interior, so I did a Forged Carbon Dash Overlay, turned out great!

For radar detectors, I've been going back and fourth on which one to buy, I was going to go with an Escort 360c, but past experiences with Escort (10+ yrs ago) have left me salty towards them. While ValentineOne has had some of the best customer service I've ever seen. I sold my v1 when I sold my E46 M3, but I'm considering picking up the v1 Gen2 (when I say considering, I mean, it's ordered 😅). Also, if the v1 Gen 2 is half as good as the original v1, it's all I need (which the gen2 scores much better than the gen1 according to radar detector reviews).

While I'm a fan of Tesla's rear carbon lip/spoiler, it's not glossy or really matte, it's kind of awkward. Mine is lifting on both ends from delivery and I was told to hold off on reporting it to service because there was a different version coming from Tesla soon. Well... RPMTesla came out with a few more aggressive spoilers, which I ordered the Jupiter V, looks like it's arriving on Monday. Also ordered C/F Side Mirror Covers, C/F fender camera accents (all from RPMTesla).

I am also going to install some blue rim guards to add some flavor to the wheels and a little bit of protection.

Personally I'd love to see a nice C/F splitter for the front, but I haven't seen anyone come out with one that I like yet.

So, I'm doing a forged carbon interior and regular glossy carbon accents on the exterior. I think it gives a nice contrast.

Edit: Also, there's a lot of choices in floor mats, but I ended up going with Tesla's All Weather floor mats. Mainly because, zero issues with fitment, no crazy huge logo (like 3D), I like LDCRS mats, but they didn't have the 2021 mats out when I wanted to order. All weather because, I live in Florida, anyone who says you don't need AW mats in Florida is stupid, rain, beaches, etc... I really don't like sand getting everywhere and the Tesla AW mats do a great job of keeping the water/mud/sand/etc in check. I may try out LDCRS's mats now that they have 2021 fitment, but not sure atm.

Just my .02 from personal experience. I would skip RPM unless you are nearby to pick up the items yourself. Shipping was a joke and with no communication from them that shipping was held up by one part that could have been mailed with 1 stamp.

Highly recommend Tesmanian as a vendor for aftermarket parts. Shipping and communication was on point.

Ok thanks much .. I appreciate this and was about to ask if maybe I posted far too many questions up front since I didn’t get a reply. These are very helpful and I’ll keep going and report back here what i learn!

I have the Jupiter V from RPM. Shipped within a week. Fit isn't 100% perfect (could be my application) but I noticed the same fitment on their video on youtube, which of course they don't allow comments on any of their videos haha. But overall I like it.

Im actually having Tesla replace my spoiler next week as its separating from the trunk at both ends. I like the OEM small spoiler personally, its really understated so I'll keep that. Just hope they can make it stick on right this time ...

Re : radenso -- why the wait ? No stock ? Also, is that using the AL Priority laser shifter ?

Has anyone dealt with Teslarati ? I ordered the Ecohitch rack from them several weeks ago but never heard anything from them. I may just call my cc and cancel that charge.

I had my spoiler replaced during a service center visit this week. One edge had lifted off the body less than 10 days after delivery.

But if I'm honest, not thrilled with the installation. The black mounting tape is visible on certain areas of the spoiler. Not the cleanest install. Just going to ignore it though. Had similar issues with the OEM spoiler on my Model S.

Also had mine replaced a couple weeks ago with both sides lifting up. I haven't really looked at it since picking it up from the service center but did notice that the factory installed did not have tape all the way to the edge of the spoiler. The replacement from the service center does have tape all the way to the edge.

I've ordered several things from RPM and had no issues. Not arguing, just supplying my data point.

I have yet to have any issues with shipping (from RPM) and I'm on the other side of the country. In fact the one item I thought would take awhile to ship, shipped faster than most of my last order. I also haven't had any issues with Tesmanian.

wow nice ! pics ?

Is yours lowered at all with those MPP coilovers ? Did you do the install yourself and if so was it that tough ? I know I will need a spring compressor ... I really want my dropped about 1". But I wonder if the factory alignment range would be enough or would I need adj control arms/swaybar end links ? I dont really plan to track this car at all so I want the tire wear for longest life.

Yes, it's lowered an inch and I installed it myself. I've linked to a post I made about it on Reddit elsewhere. You will need adjustable camber arms in the rear for sure and maybe in the front depending on how low you go. I can get the rear camber in spec but my front is -1.6 (min is -.95).

send me the link if you can. So did you also install the adj control arms ? -1.6 will eat those tires on the inside fast, and those bad boys cost $$$. It will handle better tho :)

Im dropping 1"
