Plus the couple of weeks for mine to get to Florida.... One of the sales guys told me that the Signatures may be coming out in April/May, and we may reach #266 as early as June next year. Guess that all depends on how the production preparation and start goes.

I'm still considering upgrading to the Signature model ... waiting to see (while watching the number that have been reserved).

I've heard similar rumblings about things happening faster than we've originally been told. Hard to believe that schedule was conservative.

If they've actually pulled the schedule IN, as opposed to the usual practice of sliding it OUT... well, that's impressive!

Maybe that's why they're not worried about pulling the Roadster plug.

hmm.. I got my reservation confirmation about two weeks ago, but still didn't get the number. Do I have to look it up somewhere?

If they have updated it it will be written on the mytesla page of the tm site, what number does it say on the page https://www.teslamotors.com/mytesla ? If it hasn't been updated yet, then just check back every once in a while, otherwise write to the customer rep and they might be able to find it for you.

@doug - I have a spreadsheet that I've been meaning to share in Goog docs. I haven't found the time to post it. But, it is forthcoming...
Looking forward to that. As long as you're keeping the time information, when you provide a new update post perhaps you can delete the previous ones. That way it won't crowd the thread while we still have the latest numbers.

If someone starts their own thread, can't they edit the first post on an ongoing basis? That may works as well.

A friend just got his Sig reservation # yesterday for US -- #321. That's only two weeks after I got #304, so Signatures are flying off the shelves! Actually, at this point if anyone wants to get a Model S next year the only option would be seem to be a Signature, or buying a Roadster and then putting down an R reservation on the Model S. Regular production is now into 2013 for new reservations.

@dsm363 -

I Finally did. I have been meaning to, but I never got around to it. Thanks!

Question: how many miles can you drive on one charge in your Roadster? I know there are many variables, etc. And I have read the Tesla blog with the descriptive chart. But, I'm interested to hear actual feed back from owners. Specifically, I ask because I plan on receiving a 300 mile Signature Model S, and would like to know if it will make a 267 mile trip to my in-laws on one charge.

Thanks. Just thought that'd make this less cluttered and the first post will always have the most current information.

I always charge in standard mode so that's around 187 'ideal' miles. Real world driving with a fair amount of highway gets you around 160 miles I'd say. Maybe a little more. If you charge in range mode, the ideal miles jump up to around 240 I'm told but I've never charged in that mode before.

A 267 mile trip at highway speeds the whole time might be cutting it a little close. You'd have to charge in range mode but I think it'd most likely be possible. Someone here who regularly charges in range mode and makes 200+ mile trips can probably give better information. Are there any chargers along your route that you could stop at for 45 min or so if you needed to? You'll want to plan ahead and have a backup before you make that trip just in case.

I did a road trip today, and planned it out using data from the spreadsheet Tesla supplies showing efficiency, range, etc, as a function of speed.
The predicted performance matched actual performance very closely.

My consumption was 168 Wh per km at 103 kph, which is slightly better than predicted. I also found I could squeeze out a couple of extra kph for the same energy by driving 2 seconds behind a big rig.

At that 168 Wh/km a 53 kWh pack should be good for 315 km. I started with 375 ideal miles worth of Range mode charge (just shy of a full charge of nominally 382). "Ideal" is essentially the range at 90 kph; I was going faster due to higher speed limit. My range should have been 324 km. I actually drove 275 km and the car was reporting 45 km left when I arrived at my destination. Pretty much right on the money.

So range-wise the Roadster appears to work as predicted, to within a small error. Impressive.
