And that bollard is going to wipe out a few cars too. It’s the only one for the whole site.

Supercharger - Port Macquarie (Thrumster), NSW

Just for the record, Thrumster now has all 12 stalls enabled. Not sure when the extra 6 were brought online. That means between Cassegrain and Thrumster, there are 18 stalls near Port Macquarie.

Supercharger - Port Macquarie (Thrumster), NSW

Charged there an hour ago. State of charge on arrival was 60% so only got 73kW up to 65%. The 6 stalls on the left are covered up and have witches hats in front of them.

That car park was only opened in the last 6 months. it was an informal dirt parking prior. Definitely no drive through spots considered in the design and build.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Is very "random"... I've had 80 updates over 4 years and there is no structure I've been able to determine. Here's my last 20+ months of updates (for my 2019 SR+)...

I drove by the site in Raymond Terrace (as per the address in PlugShare) on the 14th October. Absolutely no activity to be seen. I agree, the Pacific Hwy need some TLC.

Discussion: Powerwall 3 [Speculation / Discussion etc]

"For large homes that would like backup power capability for longer periods, Tesla staff say that a Powerwall 3 without an integrated inverter will be offered that can be “daisy-chained” to the hybrid battery unit." Does this suggest the PW3 without inverter could used for those with existing...

    NRMA fast charging network

I just had a look here... Charging an electric vehicle It looks like Olympic Park and Picton will be the first to ask for payment. I did a fast scan of the sites around Sydney and those are the only two to have the comment "From late September/early October 2023, you’ll need the My NRMA app to...

    Tesla Model Y-LR in Australia

I did Docklands, Vic to Ovens SC a couple of weeks ago. Got 294 km using 68% (79 to 11%) of the battery between charges. Calculating that out, you'll get around 430 km (100 to 0%). Temperature was around 14 - 15C and gained 158 meters in altitude. Driving the speed limit, with a large part of...

UMC Charges at 8 amp even though the tail is rated 10 amp

I too can’t get mine updated. I saw on FB a comment saying they lodged a service request with Tesla and the reply was that it’s a bug with the current car software version and will be fixed with the next update.

UMC Charges at 8 amp even though the tail is rated 10 amp

As I understand it, you just need to plug the UMC in to the powerpoint and the car. Then make sure the charge limit is BELOW the current charge (so it doesn't actually charge). Leave it for a few hours to do the firmware update on the UMC/Tail. I'm doing this now. I'll report back later if this...

Australia have better electrical systems than the USA. We can run at 100% of the circuit.

    Supercharger - Blaxland, NSW

    Jolt EV charging network

I saw a Jolt box in council car park at Lagoon St, Narrabeen last week. It's not on Plugshare yet. It seemed to be "lit up" as the advertisements were running. Could not see the charging cables from the road. Unfortunately I couldn't get a picture as I was driving. I also found this...

    Jolt EV charging network

Drove past the Jolt Mons St (West Ryde) site yesterday, and the charger infrastructure is completely gone. No sign of it or fencing. It is also missing from Jolt's app and Plugshare. Love to know the facts behind what happen to it. Disappointing if it was removed due to being a "pedestrian...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Interesting… I have 2022.40.7 and according to the TelsaFi, I’m one of four in Australia to have it and one of 86 world wide. The release notes have nothing specific for the version and I haven’t noticed anything out of the ordinary.

The Universal Mobile Connector is no longer standard equipment with new orders after 8 July 2022??

Over the last 7 weeks I did over 7,000km around NSW, VIC and SA. I used the UMC more times then not overnight at our accomodation. I wouldn’t do a road trip without a UMC. I am glad they have dropped the price as it may be the only way I can get 10amp and 15amp tails.

ARENA Future Fuels Fund - fast chargers

Maybe it's not the existing EVIE ones they are worried about? I'd say it's locating NEW Evie charging spots. They probably don't want to install them near an existing NRMA one. Let's face it, NRMA have done an excellent job putting them 100 to 200KM across most of the state, which means Evie...

A Sydneysider thinking of a holiday in Tasmania

When leaving the ferry, don‘t start your engine until the car in front starts to move. Need to minimise pollution for the workers getting the cars off. Seriously, I turned sentry mode off so I wouldn’t record everybody walking past my car. I also pressed the park break. I don’t normally press...

    Superchargers in Australia

I've been on a road trip in NSW and SEQ for the last 2 weeks. I just noticed the Toowoomba (24-May) and Tamworth (26-May) superchargers I was charged $0.58kWh. All other superchargers prior to those two were $0.51kWh. Did I miss a price change, or have these two locations always been higher? How...

    Evie EV charging networks

Wow, I drove through there on the 25th of April and there was none of this activity. That is impressive progress in under 2 weeks! When they are ready to move, they can move fast. These will be way better than detouring via Goulburn Chargefox/Tesla.

National and State Renewable Energy stats

So if we take this across the NEM states (NSW, ACT, Qld, Vic, SA, Tas), there probably are NO times the wind/solar isn't available with them covering each other. And if we could get WA and NT, and even NZ into the NEM (ANZ EM??), we could have more renewal generation outside each states peak...

    NRMA fast charging network

I usually don’t check into Tesla, Chargefox or Evie sites on Plugshare as I use and expect other drivers use those companies apps to check if the charger is available. Their apps give live status of the sites, usually much better than relying on PlugShare. I always check in at NRMA sites as...

    Evie EV charging networks

I don't think the 50kW one is free. It's not an NRMA owned unit, it is a ChargeFox owned unit with an NRMA (and other) logos on it. And to keep this on topic... Evie have no units between Sydney and Taree... hope they change that soon. Good spot would be the BP station at Beresfield as you come...

    Evie EV charging networks

I can confirm that using an Evie card (and Chargefox fob) both work with the EXPLOREN network. Charging - South Coast (NSW)

It also looks like you have a late 2021 LR. ABRP suggests you can get to Mollymook and back without a charge, starting with a 100% SoC. And still have 16% of the battery left over. Then you just need to cover your usage at Mollymook and side trips.

When did you start to see battery degradation

Originally yes, but some have been "unlocked" to go to 100%. Mudgee definitely is unlocked for 100%. Over time, I have also charged over 95% at Berry [Apr-2021], Jugiong [Jun-2021], Port Macquarie [Nov-2021] Edit: I pretty sure you know this, but you do need to press the 100% button on the...

When did you start to see battery degradation

My range has had an interesting time over the last 2 months... Teslafi noted a 25KM drop off early October. Then late November I did a 1,000KM trip and it jumped back up. I think the jump back up was around the time I charged to 100% on the Mudgee NRMA charger. Otherwise, my degradation is...
