Ordered an M3P, any thoughts on planned upgrades

Truth, I stand corrected. Only the OEM bars can do this.

Ordered an M3P, any thoughts on planned upgrades

Sway bars effect the combination of dive and roll in a turn. The greater the steering angle, (especially when braking) the car will want to roll and dive, but by preventing the roll with stiffer sway bars, the car will also dive less because the suspension has to do less work controlling the...

Ordered an M3P, any thoughts on planned upgrades

I'd add this to the pot. The stock Uberturbines are heavy, and even if you squeeze a 275 on them, they still aren't great for performance, and the sidewalls will bulge which isn't ideal for traction and handling. Regarding staggered setups- Manufacturers do this (generally on rear drive, or...

Discussion: Model 3 Price reductions - Jan / April / Oct 2023 and all other pricing discussions

So true. Well hopefully Tesla goes out of business soon, and in 20 years will be a dodo bird like the Delorian or AMC. You will see them on the road and say “Look dear, remember those? We had one back in the day but because Elon Musk doesn’t give a *sugar* about customer satisfaction, they went out...

Discussion: Model 3 Price reductions - Jan / April / Oct 2023 and all other pricing discussions

The difference is that never in my history of owning over 20 cars, has the trade in value lost 20+% overnight. The problem here in the US anyway, is that all of the used Tesla's sitting on lots are priced based on what the used car dealers had to pay during the pricing bubble. So someone...

Discussion: Model 3 Price reductions - Jan / April / Oct 2023 and all other pricing discussions

But at least you can look forward to either paying cash for the difference or rolling over the difference to your next loan, making whatever you choose in the future also a horribly overpriced purchase.

Discussion: Model 3 Price reductions - Jan / April / Oct 2023 and all other pricing discussions

For those of you with Travelers insurance, I was just able to add GAP insurance to my policy so at least if this overpriced Ipad gets destroyed I won't have to cough up 20K. As soon as the prices stabilize (If ever) Im going to trade it in on a Hellcat, and then proceed to Elon's house to do...

    Big price drop

Im right there with you. I'd drive this POS off a cliff if I had GAP insurance on the loan, but now I have to drive it until the wheel fall off

Discussion: Model 3 Price reductions - Jan / April / Oct 2023 and all other pricing discussions

That is why I always carry Gap insurance on my loans. At least the loan would be paid off in the event of a total loss instead of being 20k upside down on this POS

Discussion: Model 3 Price reductions - Jan / April / Oct 2023 and all other pricing discussions

Well, its official. I will never again purchase a Tesla product again because of this. Not only did many of us pay way over the new prices, but this also tanks the trade in value. All I can hope for now is to be rear ended by an F450

Mounted wrong size wheels - they’re now permanently stuck to the car. Disaster [resolved]

Have you tried a slide hammer with reversible jaws? You can flip the jaws around and hook them inside of the wheel center bore (where the center cap goes) it may just break the wheel but worth a try. Also, have a second person put a pry bar in between the void of the wheel and the brake rotor...

I was inquiring as to the individual's (cdubois) motives for doing so, not trying to start a new general discussion

Would you get this dent removed?

Call around to scrap yards and see if you can get a used hood in the same color. Plenty of wrecked Model 3's

Model 3 resell values have plummeted.

I have a question for you. What is the logic behind ordering a car with FSD? Tesla still offers the $199/month price for the subscription. Just curious what motivates people to spend the extra 15k up front when you can't transfer the feature to a new car, and you would have to keep the car 6+...

The quest for wider wheels and tires, 295, 305 and beyond...

Definitely too tight. Hard cornering will deflect/deform the tire right into the spindle.

Getting new wheels and tires with no $120 BT TPMS sensors. What error will display?

To each their own. If they are fakes, then they are darn good ones. They certainly appear to be OEM Tesla sensors and like I said, they paired up with my car instantly and I haven't had any issues so far. If all else fails, I will take the original sensors out of my Uberturbines and swap them out

    Tire wear and lowering M3P

Honestly, everyone should get an alignment anyway, regardless of suspension setup. These cars come from the factory out of spec. I know this because I hit a pretty large pothole with the LF wheel and immediately scheduled an aligment with my local SC. Come to find out, both front and rear were...

    Winter tires for Model 3

Give the Toyo Celsius Sport a try. I had them on a BMW, and they are surprisingly capable on dry roads, but still have the 3 peak mountain snowflake rating and a 60,000 mile warranty

Vendor Teslogic — Mobile Instrument Cluster for Tesla Model 3/Y

Ever since the 2022.36.2 update, I'm now getting some wonky range estimations (not that it was ever accurate to begin with) but now it fluctuates all over the place, and the estimate is waaay off.

2020 Perf Alignment at Tesla, not in spec

Looks to me like the "technician" didn't bother actually trying to adjust the camber or caster. There is no reason that the right front camber would have gotten worse. Either something is loose/worn in the suspension, or the tech just didn't know what they were doing

Vendor Teslogic — Mobile Instrument Cluster for Tesla Model 3/Y

If I force close the app, and then restart it, usually less than 10 seconds. If I leave the vehicle, more than 50% of the time once back in the vehicle I can't connect at all. At this point I just always force close the app once im out of the car, and then launch it again once back in.

Are Android users also having this connectivity issue? I might just get a cheap Android phone to be left in the car only for this function if they are stable. Teslogic and Apple don't seem to play nice together

@Kate@Teslogic I am having connectivity issues. More often than not, I have to either power cycle my phone, or delete the app and re-install it to get it to connect to the module. Sometimes it connects right away, other times it will not connect at all no matter how long I wait/drive. Anyone...

What am i doing wrong? [help request with scheduled charging]

I had this same issue initially. It seems that you can't set a departure time and set a scheduled charging time together. Since you know that your off-peak hours are generally after 8 or 9 PM, just schedule your charge after that in the app. go to "Schedule> Select "Charge"> Select "Enable...

The quest for wider wheels and tires, 295, 305 and beyond...

I have 295/30/20's (+45 ET with a 3mm spacer for the stupid double lip hub) on the rear of my M3P right now, a 305 would fit no problem

M3P aftermarket tires for 20 inch uberturbine rims

I have the Conti's in a 255/35/20 (Front) and a 295/30/20 (rear) No rubbing, no poking. 255's will fit just fine, even with a lowered suspension if that is your jam
  37. L

M3P aftermarket tires for 20 inch uberturbine rims

I'd recommend going with a 255/35/20. The Uberturbine wheels are 9" wide, so Tesla put the wrong size from the get go. (I assume they did this to get a tiny fraction lower rolling resistance, but the stretch on the tire is no good for protecting the wheel, or ride quality). a 255 width is...

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

I like these. They have a 2 piece design where the cone portion rolls on a bearing which allows for more accurate torque and doesnt dig in to the wheel as much. https://www.amazon.com/McGard-65515BK-Chrome-Spline-Installation/dp/B007QB5AII/ref=pd_lpo_1?pd_rd_i=B007QB5AII&psc=1

    FSD Beta 10.69 Release Notes

    Model 3 Performance Waiting Room

It certainly isn't necessary to swap out the brand new wheels and tires. I am more focused on performance than range. These wheels are lighter, stronger, and support a much wider tire. There is slightly more sidewall than the OEM tire on the Uberturbine wheel, but any low profile tire on a big...

Pic of your Model 3.......RIGHT NOW! [model 3 pictures thread]

Finally got my car today. The wheels were originally made for my Kia Stinger, and luckily the bolt pattern is the same. Just had to use a hub adapter ring and a 3MM spacer to omit the stupid double lip on the hub. (Maybe this belongs in the aftermarket wheel conversation) Wheels are Stance...

    Model 3 Performance Waiting Room

Well folks, today was the day. In total, it was just shy of 60 days from order date to delivery. The mobile charger was in the trunk, so I guess Tesla is still including them. I had my wheels ready to go (these came off of my Kia Stinger, and thankfully the bolt pattern is the same).

would you considering sacrificing range to get extended tire life?

Considering that Pirelli tires are complete trash, I'd say just get better tires and keep your range. I've had several sets of Pirelli's on various new vehicles from Performance tires, to SUV tires, and econo tires on a commuter, and they always dissapoint.

Has anyone had to install a charger with a less than ideal breaker panel location?

I just had mine installed. My breaker panel is on the opposite corner of my house from the garage, so my electrician had to run conduit along the side of my house, then go through the wall into a crawl space, then into the garage. Total distance is about 70 feet. I had him install a 60 amp...
