Guess the Tesla software control ability to remove software from used cars became a new revenue stream for them. Even after a used car is delivered by a dealer. I guess the car delivered “as-is” doesn’t apply to software in the car. Thanks everyone for your input, appreciate the insight.

@MP3Mike, on the CarFax it only has one owner listed. Also, when Vroom advertised it, it said Autopilot. I don’t think Vroom distinguishes EAP vs AP on their website.

Is there a way for me to find out what the original owner purchased? That way I can show that documentation to Tesla?

Other than my driver’s license... I sent my Buyer‘s Tag Receipt, and picture of my Temporary Tags from Vroom.

Is there a way I can find out what was on the car before it was sold to Vroom? In any case, is it Tesla policy to remove EAP when a Tesla is sold at Auction and/or from a Private Party?

I think this may be the case. I went ahead and did a Tesla.com chat with someone, who then emailed me and the subject line did have a ref ID on it. Sent my docs, and license via email. Hopefully turnaround time isn’t too long, but who knows these days.

So tried to go your route, and would never have thought a customer support email would go unmonitored! when did Tesla customer support become this bad? Any other ideas folks?

Oh TCMX, did you just provide the Buyers Tag Receipt to Tesla? Vroom only gave me that and of course the Temp Tags.

Definitely hoping for a Key Fob for the Model 3. The phone key is a little unreliable at the moment. It would be nice to push a button to lock and unlock doors/trunk/summon without the app. The app takes too long to wake up my Model 3. Also assumes there's good LTE signal.
