NoA is worthless, Autopilot is essentially unimproved from 2016-2017, and everybody has caught up.

I think one explanation for why they don't move FSD owners to the Beta branch with the additional features disabled might be that the system is 100% different from non-beta, and can't perform up to par (or, as reliably as non-beta does).

NoA is worthless, Autopilot is essentially unimproved from 2016-2017, and everybody has caught up.

Again, I must say - more than a year after my original post, AP is still unimproved, and now other carmakers have caught up with Tesla even more. (I am obviously not counting the ""FSD"" beta that very very very few people have access to - also it's obvious even from the videos that are...

    Waymo

I'm in awe of how well Tesla has been able to sell people their "we have a lot of cars on the road so we're unmatchable in FSD advancement" line. While it's an advantage for sure, just having the data is completely meaningless unless you can use it. Not saying they aren't using it, but just...

Did you get the FSD beta update yet???

a friend of mine got FSD and it was Frame Shift Drive and he did launch mode and he launched out of the solar system and kinda died

Did you get the FSD beta update yet???

Interesting! Mine went a completely different way... when paying for FSD I didn't know it actually stood for "Fifty Shades Darker"

Who shouldn't buy a Tesla (or an MS)

My #1 reason would be that Model S is not a good value compared to 3/Y.

65 mph Speed Limit Signs "invisible" to Tesla

... do the cars actually read speed limits or are they basing it off of map info? AP1 was actually reading those, but I know that for a veeeeery long time AP2 didn't. Not sure if it does now.

    Autonomous Car Progress

If one is 1 in 10,000 and the other is independently also 1 in 10,000 - if you combine the two, statistically, for something to slip from both it'd have to hit a 1 in 10,000, and then another 1 in another 10,000, making it 1 in 100 million. However, these things can't really be statistically...

FSD rewrite will go out on Oct 20 to limited beta

I've driven both systems. I've made a separate thread about this, but to sum it up the functionality NoA brings makes the wrong decision, or the correct decision but at the wrong time, with enough frequency to introduce a level of anxiety that persists even when it does make the right decision...

FSD rewrite will go out on Oct 20 to limited beta

Based on the incredibly, incredibly slow speed of actual, usable Autopilot enhancements and how functionally AP at the end of 2020 is 99% the same as the AP I had in the beginning of 2017, I will go out on a limb and say that Tesla fans are overvaluing the whole "We got a million cars on the...

    Model S gets $3K price drop then a $2570 drop to $69420!

    1. We can all agree that lower prices are better for us. 2. We can all agree that no matter when the price is dropped, there will always have been people who 'just bought' a Tesla with previous prices. Hence, this is a good thing, and can't be done in a better or different way. Consider if...

Customer service appears to be broken

They didn't pay me any interest. In fact, I had a loan on the car that I had to make payments on, and since the interest is front loaded in payments I ended up paying a lot of interest (just a few hundred dollars probably, but still) on a loan on a car that I had returned months prior

Used Teslas now 1 year / 10k mile warranties

To be fair offering 4 years of almost bumper to bumper warranty on CPO was excessively good. As nothing about Tesla's customer relations and service is excessively good (or even really, 'good') nowadays, it makes sense that they brought that down to a below-average level. BMW, Audi, and Benz...

Recent Used Buying Experience (New Policy)

Getting used from Tesla has all sorts of horrendously bad possibilities. I think a private purchase is the best way to go, if you aren't gonna do new. Might make it a bit harder to finance if you're gonna go that route, though.

    Model S gets $3K price drop then a $2570 drop to $69420!

Totally agree - the features currently offered under "FSD" are nearly totally devoid of actual FSD'ing capability. They've been selling FSD since 2017 and I can't believe people buy it still. I guess the "but when it does come, it'll be super expensive so buy it now at the low low price of eight...

NoA is worthless, Autopilot is essentially unimproved from 2016-2017, and everybody has caught up.

    2017 Model S 100D 28,000 MINT $57,000

Somebody said supercharging the car they were selling was much cheaper than putting gas in a car. That is one hundred percent inaccurate. I'd have the same reaction if they said their 100D had a range of 800 miles. I disagree that I'm crapping on anybody's thread. I love how hard you're...

    2017 Model S 100D 28,000 MINT $57,000

Well, your mileage may vary of course, with your wh/mi. Different locations, climates, elevations, etc. I averaged about 300 or higher with all my MS's. But even in your case - we're comparing the best case scenario for a Model S versus a gas car that is especially bad with MPG's - the...

    2017 Model S 100D 28,000 MINT $57,000

Absolutely untrue. Tesla charges $0.28 per kWh. I believe Model S cars average about 0.32-0.35kWh/mi, so that comes to about 9-10 cents a mile. A regular car gets _at least_ 30mpg today, with gas prices of about $2/gallon, comes to 6.5 cents a mile. Even if you buy premium gas, that's still...

Most unreliable second hand model S

True. Plus, from what I've seen, Tesla warranty honoring has gone from "good" to "terrible". They used to do a lot of goodwill stuff, but now they just don't. Lately they haven't even been accepting stuff like creaks and noises as part of warranty - last year when I had my P90DL with a huge...

    Plaid a total game changer?

High end sports cars are just more expensive. Not sure what the justification is, but Tesla definitely doesn't need one. Compare it to Porsche though - their Panamera Turbo and 911 Turbos are priced a lot closer, with the 911 being slightly more expensive.

Tesla infotainment system upgradeable from MCU1 to MCU2

Honestly you probably don't need it. Most unreliable second hand model S

No matter how much money I have I would NEVER own a Tesla outside of warranty. My 2015 S 85D, had plenty of problems God knows would cost how much if I didn't have warranty on it. The 2016 P90DL also had a billion problems. The P100D was OK, but the MCU and the dashboard would scarily and...

Tesla infotainment system upgradeable from MCU1 to MCU2

Between my first Tesla (2015 85D) and my last (2018 P100D) the MCU was literally the biggest difference. They drove almost exactly the same, P100D was a lot faster but you're not gonna be stomping on it a lot (it's not pleasurable) and in any case the 85D was plenty of fast too, Autopilot was...

Model S needs a major visual overhaul, and Plaid announcement means it's not happening [Speculation]

Panamera's front was always good but its back was just misshapen (though it looked much better in real life than pictures). With the 2017 redesign they've totally nailed it. It's the best looking big luxury sedan now, in my opinion.

Walmart's customer service is fantastic, IDK what you're talking about! Other than that, I completely agree. Used car nightmare

Tesla is the worst. They are known for selling cars as NEW with damage records on them and then not telling the owners before during or after. They don't legally have to disclose it (unless the damage is more than a couple percent of the car's MSRP) so they get away with it. I'm telling you...

UHFS sucks unless they've changed it in the last year or so. It never feels centered on me and sounds like it's coming from around where the dashboard is. All the Model S' I've bought I made sure they didn't have UHFS. I guess that's not a possibility any more.

    2019 Model S Performance Raven

Not to come in here 'rating deals' but I recently sold a 2018 14k miles P100D (with FSD) for $80k so I think considering the slightly lower miles, the PPF, Arachnids, and tint, plus the great bonuses coming from the car being Raven makes this worth the price being asked. Good luck with your sale!
