    FSD Beta 10.69

First drive down to a grocery store and back: overall very good. Some notes: Not enough use of regen braking. Why does FSD hate one of the car's nicest features? Several times, the car flicked on turn signals in wide single lanes. Finally got to experience the "bias to the right side of a...

    FSD Beta 10.69

Just got in as well. Waited 4 months after getting the car just before last Christmas, then opted out. About 3 months later, re-joined the queue in early July, so it's been around 5 months of continuous waiting, and 9 months in total. Looking forward to giving it a test tomorrow!

    FSD Beta 10.69

Dumb question: I've been trying (again) for the last 3 months to get into FSD beta. My Model S is running 2022.28.2, and I was just prompted to update to 2022.36.6. Question: if I do this, will I miss out on the opportunity to upgrade to 10.69.3, should there be an influx of new testers...

Amendment: when you drive in the rain and hit the "wiper" button on the yoke, it does pull up a windshield wiper menu on the left side of the instrument cluster. You can use the left selector wheel on the yoke to pick the setting you want for the wipers. ...I missed this previously, because...

California DMV - Plates & HOV Stickers

Just a quick note that I received the tint stickers from @iyordanov and they *really* help dampen the damn yellow stickers for 2022. They work great. Here's a couple photos. The natural yellow tint is about the yellow of the text on the license plates. It's hideous.

2022 Model X (Plaid) Energy Graph

No, you can't select anything on the instrument cluster. It has no customizations or interactivity at all.

    FSD Beta 10.11

After applying for FSD beta 3 days after receiving the car, 95 days ago, I've decided to opt out. And I could not be happier. I'll circle back around perhaps when we're approaching FSD v11 or whenever the "meaningful improvements" train is running again.

    FSD Beta v11.x

Page 2 of the "Why Haven't They" file: Why haven't they put this turn signal camera images on the instrument cluster, where it belongs? Sure, use the main screen in cars which lack an instrument cluster screen, obviously. But when an instrument cluster exists, it's a way better use.

    FSD Beta 10.11

I'm also concerned about this. However, they had at least two full redesign opportunities to fix this (HW 1->2, and 2->3), so perhaps it's less a concern than we think? Contrariwise, the unsubstantiated rumors of HW4, if true, indicate that more cameras are coming -- though we don't know...

    Model S refresh rattles/creaks

Update: the mobile tech appointment I made was canceled, said the update needed an in-person appointment. Next slot: 1 month from now. So that's great. Guess I'll be driving with my seats down to minimize the Geiger counter. (Yes, it rattles even with the seats down.)

    Model S refresh rattles/creaks

Just got my car back. The service center in Dublin, CA fixed neither of the problems. Noticed both within 10 seconds of driving off the lot. Clearly, they either did nothing, or didn't test what they did do, because it was dead obvious. Sigh.

    Accessories for 2021 Refresh Model S Plaid/LR

Kinda annoyed by the anemic interior lights, I just emailed Abstract Ocean regarding the status of replacement interior lights. The product page says they're due "mid-late Q1" meaning any day now. Got an email response. tl;dr - They're "absolutely not on schedule" -- I'd guess mid-late Q2. Alas.

    Elon: FSD Beta tweets

Can you define what is meant by "SF Metro Area"? It clearly doesn't refer to the city of SF (under 900k), nor any common understanding of the SF bay area (nearly 8M). I'm puzzled.

Interesting. Tesla Bjorn (of YouTube fame) seems to disagree -- unless I'm misinterpreting him. But I'm pretty sure he's clamied that PPF is "self-healing". Or at least the products he's used. Might be wrong.

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

From a few pages back, this was in reference to an alternative means to honk the horn, by placing your hand over the right side of the yoke. Mention of this has been removed from the user manual, and IIRC that feature was indeed removed, as well. (Not at home at the moment, so I can't confirm.)

If true, this implies that the new lights may require wiring (or other internal) changes -- not just the simple part swap that existing owners had been hoping for.

Those who reset score - how soon after reaching 99/100 (100+ miles) did you receive FSD Beta?

We know. But would a little communication with customers hurt them, to at least set expectations? This is a pervasive theme with Tesla: absolutely terrible communication.

Weird, because 10.10 fully addressed the rolling stop recall. If they wanted to get everyone on that version to close out that recall, they could. They've chosen not to. In the same way that 10.9 was halted, to boot. Something else is going on here.

Rattles update: the rear driver side rattle was only temporarily solved by taping the latch hook. It's back, and it doesn't matter how much tape I use, or what kind of tape.
