Assuming this information is correct, it probably means Tesla didn't get any bug reports of serious concern and therefore has just opened the next larger batch...

Seems like the batches are purposely delayed each time. Larger delay this time is probably due to the impact of this update (local autosteer) I wouldn't go so far as to say the next batch is going out for 3 total updates today, it could just be people from the first batch installing just now.

interesting delay, I did not experience any bugs with the new update as of yet. Everything seems to be working just fine over 500 miles or so.

Has that 1 minute been confirmed with a stopwatch, or is it someone's gut impression? Is it consistent in all conditions?

I'm kinda surprised it's anything different than the 2:10/3 minute AP1 set when in good conditions (AP1 will prompt more often than that in conditions it's not happy with.)

I've timed it. Exactly 1 minute for me.

Due to the issues with 17.16.35 that I called into question, my SC will try to expedite the push of 17.17.4 to my vehicle.

Within a few hours after advising my SC of the issues with 17.16.35, I received the 17.17.4 update this evening.

I wonder if there is some sort of calibration that is needed. I got 17.17.4 today from the SC.

I tested it on local roads (for those familiar with South Bay Area CA) on Saratoga Ave, Fruitvale Ave, HW9 from West Valley College to Los Gatos and on parts of HW17 Southbound from Los Gatos to Summit Road. Also, along Summit Road going south. These are all roads that would have been in the "slower" autopilot.

My experience is about a 5x increase in false positives and jerky driving. A couple of times it tried to swerve into the other side of the road suddenly. This comes with a huge surprise as I have put about 4k miles since I bought my car in late March and I have had generally great experiences with AP. Though, most of my AP experience has been on highways at speed. I have yet to test on highways yet with 17.17.4.

I look forward to testing auto-highbeam.

What now remains for AP1 parity?

Speed limit sign recognition is still missing from AP2 also. I get so annoyed when the database isn't accurate and my car slows to 40 on a highway because of it right now.

AP2 does not (yet) read signs...

AP1 reads road signs if they are visible.
If not it uses database/GPS.

I would expect that AP2 will be the same - hopefully already is.

The update that I received last night was in fact 17.17.4. I'll be out and about today to test things out.
