@Edinct My "My Tesla" page is also missing the delivery date as of today. Fortunately today is also the day I received an email that my Model S has entered production!

I emailed my DS about the missing delivery estimate and he confirmed that it had not changed from Late February-March, which I had seen before the web page redesign.

While at my local Service Center this AM I ran into my Delivery Specialist!
Pleasant visit and I learned something... my car is scheduled to go into production in Mid February or in about 2 weeks.
We are looking at a late March to Early April delivery as it stands now.
Sweet.

I was there to pick up 4 grey wheel center caps for the Tsportline 19" Cyclone wheels... they had them in stock!

Interesting, however I think the Marketing plan is to have a full line of vehicles like the Mercedes C, E and S class.

On the new My Tesla page some delivery data changed this AM.... I was at Late March - Early April for estimated delivery.
As of this morning I am now March - Early April. It may just be the new My Tesla page programming I recon.

Regarding the Model S and a possible redesign.... Some thoughts on this...

I think Tesla will eventually sunset the Model S. Take it out of production.
No one will be able to order or buy the S...
Then Tesla will Dribble out "The New S Is COMING" hype and then reintroduce the next S with a great fanfare.

After all, the S is a key stepping stone for Tesla's movement into mainstream auto sales.
However, the S is not a mainstream model by any means.... it is a halo model.
It may be treated much like the Acura NSX and Toyota Supra were .... here.... gone
(too bad you did not pull the trigger when you could have)... but wait, a new one is coming soon

This type of marketing tactic will maintain the value of the S and make the loyal S owners feel they own something special.

Just talked to my DS. Apparently there are six or so cars (including mine) that are destined for the D.C. area that have been pushed back in production. He is trying to convince Tesla to get them on a truck instead of rail. Production of my vehicle is "suppose" to start next week. If truck, that would be the very end of February/beginning of March delivery. If rail, we are talking mid to end of March. :cursing:

Hey guys for all you worried about the changes to MyTesla estimated delivery date, don't worry about it too much. Just got a reply from my delivery specialist.

He said, "Please don't pay attention to those automated delivery date ranges for your car. Those estimates happen to be off for the Northeast region and don't accurately your details."

Good news I guess?

The race is on...:scared:

Yup, rail does take a bit longer....
Do you guys know what rail yard they would come into?
Is it New Jersey? Then a trucking out to you from there?
That is how many cars get to Conn and MA...
Train to NJ and then car carrier to the service centers.
Some times, the cars come in an enclosed car carrier truck direct from Fremont.
In that mode, the transit is quicker and the cars are near pristine.
They are more dirty when they come by train as I think they are exposed a bit more.

I just talked to my DS.
My car should enter production in the next week or two.

Congrats, we are all near the dock or in the same boat! It looks to be a busy March for the Tesla DS corps.

BTW, I did some poking around in all the older spreadsheets which tracked orders, etc.

I focused in on the range of VIN's assigned in any quarter...
Assuming that VINs would eventually equate to deliveries minus a few cancellations and mishaps...

So ...

Q1 2014 = 72 VINS assigned per day

Q1 2015 = 92 VINS assigned per day

Q1 2016 = 121 VINS assigned per day (to date)

The assumption is each quarter has 90 days.

So Model S VIN assignments are on the rise for the Model S.
