Could have delivered it before the end of the year!
But we pushed it back after 01/15/2017

I think it has to do with the quarterly cycle. First two months are European and overseas priority, end of 2nd month and into the 3rd month Canada and US priority.

Funny thing is that I actually ordered and confirmed in August, but requested a 2017 VIN at the time (5 seater couldn't deliver until end of year anyway). I'm so glad I did because, otherwise, I would have missed out on AP2.

I ordered December 31 (Wanted the supercharging before they extended). Confirmed on the 7th. I got my vin starting with 5YJ - P100D fully loaded.

Folks, every Tesla vin starts with 5YJ. It is the manufacturer code. In this case... (you guessed it)... Tesla ;-)

Often times we give the first two or three numbers of the last 5 digits. Mine are 35XXX for example. Gives everyone an idea of how many cars they've built.

Also. Sit tight. You will likely not hear anything for a while depending on your delivery timeframe. Once you really enter production, you status will change and you may receive an email. I do not expect to hear anything until the first week or so of Feb.

If you ordered in Jan, you definitely have a 2017.

The key character in the vin is the "H". That means 2017. G would be 2016.
