So, does anyone know:

Is the reported range a real increase to the car's range, or just a higher range estimate, presumably through using a better metric for range estimation?

One is a real enhancement, the other is mildly helpful, but not a real improvement.

Is seems like people are reporting higher numbers, but how would one know if the actual range is improved?

Anybody with MYP getting 40.8 ? I used to get these updates within the first 24 hours or so after they showed up, but 40.8 is still MIA for me, stuck on 40.3 According to TeslaScope a crap load of MY LR AWD are getting 40.8, but not a single MYP yet. Wonder why? Anything to do with the different motor, the 980 vs 990?

Sucks to be you..no just kidding. I have no clue how Tesla issues these updates. My LR Y done with 40.8 and it's obvious the welcomed update to date. :)

Nothing to do with the different motor. I have a LR MY with the 980 motor and still got the range increase.
