2022 Q2 production Model 3 missing matrix headlights?

I just picked up my m3lr blue with white inside. Vin 241xxx. I got the matrix.
My vin was assigned on 4/26/22

so only 2 cars out of maybe 25-30 i looked at had old headlights

bunch of them had note on windshield saying “hold charge port”

Very promising that they’re coming back!

I’m at Vallejo SC. Just looking out the window. 10x model 3 in the lot. All white/black all of them have matrix light except one. I’ll see if I can get to them up close to check dates when I’m done with my test drive.

Did you happen to notice if either of the cars with old lights were performance versions?

I only saw one with uberturbines and it had matrix. All others had aeros. Maybe 3-4 with white interio.

With this latest intel, if yours doesn't have the matrix lights, I'd probably decline and wait for another one.

They all won’t. I saw a new one today at the sales center being delivered. It had the old headlights, no doubt about it.

Was assigned my vin today 249xxx and everyone I talk to swears it has the "Global Headlights/Matrix lights" Build date of 05/01/22 so I have my reservations. Plan on keeping the car for many years so this is a dealbreaker :/

See my post here. Should be pretty obvious just looking at them.

Yes, the matrix lights have a projector lens instead of more chrome reflector bowls.

The overall appearance is also darker because the decorative elements went from bright reflective chrome/silver to a dark matte gray.

This was in the UK. Presumably the new headlights named "Global" are used everywhere. But were the old headlights the same in all regions?

Also, if the new headlights have software configurable beam patterns, they may vary in different regions even if they have the same hardware.

I recently replaced my 2018 RWD with a LRAWD 2022 January build and my new one has matrix lights (USA). It is not life changing. If I could swap it for heated wipers, I would.
