One night the charging stopped at 70% and wouldn’t charge above that, the next day while on the way to work I got the “power reduced” message, got to work and the car said “car shutting down pull over safely” had to have it towed to Tesla as it went completely dead with 67% charge on it. Service center told me immediately that the HV battery needs to be replaced. And now two weeks later I have my car back and I am just curious to know if I truly got a new battery or a refurbished.

Maybe you might ask the SC directly as it's not a secret info. Nevertheless I doubt they gave you a refurbished one...

They would have to find a used, refurbished one equal to you old battery, which is unlikely. Even Tesla would replace a new plaid battery failure with a new battery. That said, your old battery repaired, or parts from it, may become a good warranty replacement for someone else's older plaid with a battery failure.

Could you provide pic of your pack label? That will help answer your question.

First pic is location of pack label just behind the right front tire. After you get down on the ground, look up and it'll be right there. (not my car, just a stock photo)
Second pic is a Tesla reman pack label. The T13G0017312R1 serial number means it's originally a July (G is 7th letter in the alphabet) 2013 pack that has been remanufactured once - T13G and R1. That said, one cannot tell from Tesla's label when the reman was done. Could be anytime from 2013 to present.
If there is no "R" after the "T" serial number, then you have an original pack built on the year/month indicated.385434110_10230892232665202_8167489619057806560_n.jpg383349605_10230892235705278_3083027576263117984_n.jpg

When I took delivery of my plaid it started out with a unusually low range. At about 1800mi it finally gave the unable to charge to 100% message, at which point a new pack was installed. (I have a friend that's a service manager and confirmed it was in fact new) This was Oct 2021, when Plaid's were scarce.
My part number is the same as yours. So I suspect yours is new.
