The rear wheels wouldn’t be locked if he was on the throttle

Really weird situation, but after I read that I went out to the truck and tried. As expected, the car cuts any power when both pedals are depressed, same as the 3 and Y. This is why left foot braking on the track is not really feasible with these cars.
There is a mode in the Cybertruck that allows it (double pedal).

If that is the case and that mode was enabled, dare I say it sounds like user error?

Right, the Off-Road modes allow for unique application of the controls. However, even in such a mode, I would expect that smashing both pedals would favor the brake for obvious reasons.

As far as I know, this (double pedal) is another first for Tesla on any of their vehicles. Some newly designed things are good and others are not (ie. some recalls have happened).
