Here in California you can get stated value insurance. If my car gets totaled AAA will give it back as long as I can prove I bought it and was on the vehicle when it was totaled. It’s like ppl film. You have to make sure that they note it on your file.

Right - that was my point. If you don't tell your insurance company, they won't cover it. If you do, they may (understandably) raise your rates.

Wawanesa Ins here, someone drove into our ex Tribeca that had PPF. Insurance covered the replacement PPF and I never mentioned it to Wawa. However, insurance is well known to cover things like PPF.
