Another perfect Model X delivery

Sorry to hear. Are you thinking of doing any paint protection? Paint correction before it can fix most of that or I would ask service to address it at least.

I only had a day and a bit with it so far. It's at the detailer for a front bumper, headlights and hood clear wrap and getting a ceramic coating. Hopefully it'll be ready for pickup soon. I'm already missing it.

Fingers crossed for me. Mine was really good. And there was barely dust on it when I inspected it.
I'm doing the same. I have the wrap guy coming Saturday morning so I won't even drive it. Will go from the truck into the garage and wait for wrap the next morning. Not doing full car, just the front for stone protection as this car will see more abuse than my S did (family hauler). Model 3 will be pampered though when it arrives!

It's supposed to be -24C and snowing on my delivery day :(

BBBRRRR... And I thought it was bad in Vancouver lately. I guess I won't complain about it. Got heat in that garage to keep the baby warm? :)

You bring your car to Autowerkes? He did my seat backs last week. I didn't do rest of car because I mainl only drive in the city.

Operationally, my car is perfect, other than the fact that the right FWD leaks rain when opening door after being parked for a while. The other complaint is condition of the clear coat, and some minor scratches on the plastic trim and a gouge on the driver seat leather (seat will be replaced). But after reading other forum posts, I'm already very fortunate. The delivery specialist told me that compared to other cars, mine was "immaculate". Not sure how I should interpret that.

My windshield has zero ghosting, and the car has very little road and wind noise on the highway, something which many owners have complained about. FWD open and close with no noise or squeaking. Car drives straight, all panels are aligned except for a tiny issue which I will choose to ignore for now. No visible glue or seal issues.

Handling and power are excellent for such a large car, and I only have a 60D.

Yes Ken is looking after my car and mentioned another X owner was just in! LOL. Was also told mine was one of the best that they've seen come through. Looks like that's a sign of improved QA! I couldn't find anything really that looked wrong even in the slightest!

RE: Ghosting. I'm short, so I don't know if I have ghosting issue, but during the two nights out I didn't notice anything (And I'm not trying to look for it either) . :p I guess a night passenger is in order to see if they notice something. I'll report back after Saturday nights planned shenanigans. ;)

I think Tesla is going through some growing challenges and the quality as your referencing is a bit hit or miss, with little things being off, scratched or misaligned.. The first Model S I put clear bra on, had the door handles pop out to not return, another had the frunk stopped opening and had no emergency release, multiple x's had panels visibly out of line by a tiny bit. If you've only opted for the seatbacks, I urge you to be careful of sandblasting and rocks flying with the recent winter we've had as the roads are filled with more rocks and sand then I've seen here since the middle 80's. Thankfully though we aren't in Calgary eh 3S. =) Roads are atrocious there all year round.

Yes, I was there last Wednesday. Tell him I said hi.

I'm optimistic that these "perfect" Xs are the first examples of the efforts by David Erhart and Peter Hochholdinger.

It seems that Tesla is largely over the big quality problems that plagued early cars (drive units, contactors, A/C routing, pano roofs, door handles, etc) but they sure have been struggling on fit-and-finish refinement.

Anecdotally I've been noticing that the end of quarter flood of X deliveries that clog up my commute have nicely aligned doors and trim, something that's noteworthy given the ghastly misalignment of the same on early cars.

I tend to drive very slow because the minute I see sirens in my rear view mirror, I cry and ask for mommy! One reason I didn't get the P100D (besides the price!).

I agree. When I got my Model S (first batch of P85D cars) the build quality and finishing were excellent - they seemed to have figured it out by then and I'm hoping my X will now benefit from the time Tesla has had to sort out quality issues.
