Like with everything else Tesla, it appears to be random. I got my VIN end of June, but have yet to receive an invoice. Others seem to get it a day or two after their VIN.

Based on past experience the invoice creation process appears to be a manual one, it'll get done when someone gets around to it soonish. Someone in Q1 waited weeks for their invoice, however it eventually gets caught and sorted as the cars get closer to arriving in the country.

There is a (currently) hidden column for the VIN number for those who want to share the first 4 digits of the last 6 characters.

Its important if you do share the numbers not to share the rest - just say 1234XX or similar. Or dont share it. I wont be.

Nearly an 8 month wait! My original EDD was 8-12 weeks. But worth it. I was driving a family members LR today. It’s like a rocket on four wheels.
Relay attacks are pretty well explored, just enable PIN to drive to mitigate to some extent. Same vulnerability applies for cars with keyless entry.
Needs to be explained by Tesla to customers at least. I'm surprised insurance companies haven't listed restrictions yet on paying out for stolen vehicles without pin to drive activated.

@Ormaus I also got my invoice today and a build date 09/07 in case you want to add that to your tracker.
I loved using my phone as a key with the Model 3 I hired last year. Has me concerned now that it's so easy to gain access to our cars.Kinda wish I hadn't seen that
It's more of a case that every car out there is vulnerable to countless things, so the risk is already pre-calculated in by both insurance and the manufacturers. Tesla is actually probably better than the rest, due to it not having a way to open the doors using a physically cut key (unlike typical keyless entry cars, which still has a key hole for that backup key inside the fob, for when the fob's battery dies), as well as having features like PIN to drive.
This recent video shows ways to get into conventional cars and fully program a new key as if you now own it:

And realistically to do this relay, they'd need to be very close to your phone and have low latency to the device at the car.

Great news! Looks to be a different car (build date of others at the same time was 30/06 now its 9/7).
They seem to be churning out the white LR.’s. Should’ve gone with that and I would have my VIN by now. Get that blue paint out of storage Tesla grrr!
