I am in my late forties, live in Liverpool area and NRMA wants $2,650/year.
Too many thieves and/or incompetent drivers in my area then 😤
Definitely shop around, massive differences between insurers (who are the real thieves)

There is also an EV specific insurer which is starting up in AU as they recognise how badly the current lot are looking after EV drivers, I don't recall the name though unfortunately

Question, if I just placed the order last week in Ultra Red and change to Black would that effect my order ETA much?
Most likely not especially if you just placed the order.

It'll just depend on if your configuration matches one of the extras on the first shipments otherwise you'll just get it in the next one.

Shipment frequency should start ramping up now that most of the initial deliveries are almost done

Which rental places do model 3? I can’t seem to find them as an option?
I did see them once when I flew to Melbourne but some idiot booked me a Kona or some such rubbish. I’m pretty sure it was supposed to only have premium fuel but being a rental people only put regular fuel in, it drove like crap and sounded like a diesel…
This was Sixt.
Had to use a stupid access card instead of rental access on the app like in USA. And also can only use chargefox locations. And most of the were like 7.5kwh in McLaren Vale.
But otherwise, was a great success. Zipping around in the rain.

My insurance quotes are horrendous, they range between $2,400 and $3,200, and I have max no claim bonus with spotless driving/claim records.
Does anyone in NSW have a more competitive quotation that they can share?
Please indicate rough figure and the insurer.

Thanks.
Try Rollin’ insurance.. they’re owned by the same group that own NRMA… they specialise in insurance for the ‘younger crowd’.. not sure I fit that mould 😅 but they’re the cheapest I’ve found so far (33yo male in the ACT)

Yeah I’ve been asking the council about charging down south. There are more Raa chargers going in around Seaford etc but out in the ‘vale you are at the mercy of destination chargers. I’m not far from McLaren vale but luckily I’ve put my own gen 3 wc in so won’t need them. I’m pushing for them so tourists can roam freely and support our local businesses, but unfortunately the council thinks that petrol stations are responsible for refuelling all cars….
The RAA sites will be our only hope :)

Unfortunately not, the Tesla doesn't have the required hardware for a true rear cross traffic alert, these function using radar transponders located at the extreme rear quaters of the vehicle.

They may be able to cludge something similar in function using cameras but the reality is there just aren't cameras in the right location looking the right way...

I hope that Tesla Vision improves substantially in the next 12 - 24 months and that the rear camera, coupled with the 2 rear-facing B pillar cameras, could provide even a basic rear cross-traffic alert system... surely Tesla has the smarts to implement this with its current fitted hardware.

Smarts wouldn't be an issue, as in this case the limiting factor is the hardware.
