I wonder if it will be a simple fix or something complex to change.

Can anyone who has already accepted delivery take a look to see how the outboard tether covers are fitted? Are they just clipped in?

We know that the tether is present, welded into the structure of the car. Question is just how hard it is to reveal it and tidy up the hole. Is there a hole in the structure of the parcel shelf that's covered by 'carpet' that can be simply cut and then the cover clipped in? If so, it's a pretty quick fix: a few cartons of plastic covers, some Xacto knives and some day-labour to do the job...

I'm sure it's impossibly illegal but man I would have signed the hell out of a waiver at delivery saying I can't use the middle seat until I bring it back to have the hole installed post delivery

Still got Jan 24 - Feb 10 here. I'm guessing they are trying to see how quickly it can get done. Would depend on how quickly they can get the plastic cap things I guess.

In the rear parcel shelf trim piece all fabric or a mould? A mould would be harder to cut a hole in.

I'm sure if anyone wanted to back out of their order they would have grounds to also get the order fee refunded. Any pushback and I'm sure the Office of Fair Trading would happily step in.

I'm not cancelling nor care about a middle seat tether, but hey we're now all on this new rollercoaster together

Just checked in Service NSW and the car is already registered, so that's also ticking down, in addition to having already having made the final payment at their request. Will be calling and enquiring about compensation.
