Yes, a current Tesla owner said that. Hence my belief that existing ownership still gets you to the front of the line.

From what I have heard and read on the forums, it appears that current owners that ordered before the ordering was available to all (the flood gates opened) received some priority. If you ordered after that, current owners (supposedly according to Tesla rep) are not given priority.

Litterally someone on this page stated that they reserved this year and is getting their car by end of week...

Sure, but when did they configure?

There has been a lot of talk that configuration date is what matters (placed your order at a restaurant). This seems to be proven false, at least for this first delivery batch of AWD

@boriszima is the owner being referenced here. Their signature shows a configuration date of 6/28/18.

I guess the delivery experience specialist is still reviewing that change I made from "28" to "21" on the birthdate. :( <sigh>

Figure I’m in that first batch of AWD (non-P cars). I can tell you as a late reservation current Tesla owner and an owner that got an invite right when the gates opened for Model 3 AWD 6/26/18, we placed our order for our non-P right there at a restaurant as it turns out since it was the first place we could sit down after reading the good news. Got our email on Fri. 8/3 that our car could be delivered ASAP. Since not expecting the email yet, we’ve been scambling to figure out all the paperwork details and setting up the best date for us—will complete tonight. Wanted to look into scheduling a wrap at delivery time (pick up and get wrapped before it comes home but now looks like we’ll pick up before our film appointment and hope for the best with the road stones—now have an October appointment, another place said not until Jaunary! This is definitely earlier than the Sept-Nov delivery time frame we were give when we paid our $2500.

Ill probably take some cheap vinyl with me to pickup and do a quick wrap in the parking lot to protect the nose/hood.

No email from Tesla regarding order availability. Found out on facebook..
Just for the record, I was also never informed that I could order AWD. I read here that it had been opened up, checked my account, and there it was available on June 26. I've still never been notified that I could order (and I have another reservation unconfigured that I have had listed as "waiting for AWD" for months.

The App is odd. At first it showed my pending vehicle. Now it's a dead end. Can only see videos, loot, or freezes with the Tesla Logo.
I'm happy to see that I can sort of log in, and it says "Hi Darell!" But yeah... then it does nothing. Still, better than telling me that I'm "nobody" because I don't have any Tesla product.

I am likely an out-layer and got lucky. Maybe Los Angeles? Maybe 19 inch wheels rather than majority do 18? maybe white paint? who knows. Majority of others here were/are first day/Month reservation holders. Just check out @Troy spreadsheet to see a pattern. Tesla likely is not doing straight reservation, but likely high(est) priority is given to first day and then to current owners. The rest of the truck with cars gets filled with others who luckly have the same config and are in the same city as "first day/current owner" As mentioned Tesla registered 10k AWD, so its a full swing now.

This is indeed valid info and i updated spreadsheet as well for the community. I am still waiting for final paperwork, ISA said tomorrow. Great thing is his first email to me had his phone, i call him and he picks up.

I think that "current owners" only got preference if ordered before the flood gates opened (when they opened ordering to all). As a current owner of a Model X, I specifically asked if I got preference when I placed my M3 order on 7/13/18. I don't recall the specific answer, but the general gist was "no longer giving preference to existing or prior owners.
I was told the same thing. Since late June when Tesla opened the Model 3 configurator to everyone who had made a reservation, current Tesla owners do not get priority when they place their Model 3 order.
