Good for you. This sort of deadwood needs to be fired.
I should point out Tesla has a record of every email, every phone call, the substance of that phone call and it is shown to every subsequent Tesla rep. Whether it is a clerk in the store or a rep on the phone, "trying to get them fired generally makes you an ex customer at their discretion. Good job! The is the most childish thing I've read on here...again..good job kid!

How do I know that, the last Tesla rep I spoke to made specific reference to many of them by date.

9/10/18 called (for the 19th time) and was told I have a VIN (I’ll believe it when I see it!)

Sept-Nov delivery, backdoor edit is non-functional, no VIN listed online

Has anyone taken delivery with their edit button still there? Or does it _for sure, definitely_ go away at some point as delivery day gets closer?

I'm 12 days out from delivery and mine is still showing. No VIN.
For me it went away the second I was asked for trade-in and loan information, which was yesterday (and not right when delivery was scheduled). So about 10 days before delivery for me.

However the back door edit still worked till the day I got the voicemail from Tesla... I went online and saw that the backdoor edit link, that's when I knew for sure my order was progressing.

Yeah, they are juggling a lot. As long as I get the car on time and it's in the proper condition I don't really care if they are great about contact.

They are supposedly hiring hundreds of temp employees to assist with this so hopefully it starts to get better for others taking delivery towards the real crunch at the end of this quarter and all of next quarter.
 
I was told the VIN won't be assigned till around 7 days before picking the car up. Definitely seems like a recipe for disaster if the VIN is needed for other things like getting your loan financed, having time to do the ACH payment, etc.

That's why I did an unsecured loan.

I believe that it's not a case of "you have a VIN but they won't tell you"... if you look at the java console of your configuration page the VIN would be in there somewhere if it was assigned, and mine is not. The other back door way of discovering your VIN before they tell you is to go to the Tesla online store, put a wall connector in your shopping cart and go to check out. If your VIN is already assigned it will show up there.
Nice shop workaround! I tried it and it says "Is this a gift or VIN not assigned". No java code indication either.

Unreal... Sitting in Columbus with nada, so it isn't a delivery logistics issue. I need to get away from these forums, they just ruin my day.
 
Julie is my advisor also. Heard from her yesterday. My problem is; she emailed me and told me to log into my account, fill out credit app, it’s not there. She also said to do my trade in stuff, it’s not there either, any ideas?
I also have Julie F. as my DSA, and I received the same email. None of the items she listed is displayed or enabled on my account. I think it was an auto email. She has replied a few times. When I called the curt gentleman on the phone accidentally gave me the name of my Delivery Specialist. I haven't hear from him yet.
 
Delivery scheduled for Thursday, 9/13 in Rockville, MD and received a call today from the local delivery center...

The car is supposed to leave Alabama today. It's going to be tight, but there's a chance they make it for 9/13.

I'll try to update here either way and will try to remember to PM you.

If we don't take delivery by the morning of the 14th...we're headed to Europe for 10 days so we'll have to get it when we get back on the 24th.

I saw a silver metallic Model 3 in my neighborhood on Saturday and was upset we weren't the first!

I just talked to the call center and they said you get your vin 5 Days before delivery. I told them that’s not enough time to get all paperwork in order.
