Let us know how it goes, im thinking i might want to switch from Raleigh to Richmond given the trouble they have with delivering and storing cars.
Just took delivery of my 3. It went smoothly; took about an hour overall. There was just one other car that's scheduled at the same time, so looks like 2 cars in 1 hour slot. Delivery specialist mentioned that there is no specific walk through other than connecting car from my phone, explaining about charging, and going through personalizing preferences. He asked me if I had any questions. I kind of felt a little rushed, but realized it's mainly because the DA is sick with cold. I did not notice any major issues, except an alignment issue with rear left side door, depressed liner on the rear right side window, and a few missing caps in pretty much all wheel wells. They took care of door alignment issue and missing caps under wheel wells while I waited. They ordered liner for rear right side window and said they would call me when it arrives.

Overall great delivery experience with no major issues to mention.

Mine edit buttons still there. No vin . Can’t get a loan with no vin or a purchase order. I called three times to talk to Julie I emailed Julie no reply by email or phone
If you look closely at the workflow under information for prepare for delivery. It shows delivery is scheduled prior to vin assignment. Actually, weird though it may be it makes sense. Ben Sullins today just announced Tesla is bulk shipping to destinations and, from there, cars are assigned and delivered. What I think that means is where, in my case, travel time from Fremont to east coast is one week. that implies I'd have a week to secure financing. Although, I was asked to provide financial provider information so it is entirely possible Tesla will talk to your lender. All of this to explain why Julie or whoever has been streamlined away from answering interrupt driven calls such that she can manage the hundreds of other purchasers rather than the squeakiest wheels. I could be wrong.

My local Tesla store gave me my VIN a week ago, I still don't have an IDA associated with my account. The 1800 number tells me that my car is at the factory in queue for shipment. Said even though I have a VIN, I may not get contacted until my car reaches the service center.

I lost my VIN apparently. I was told I had a vin(rep also provided it to me) but since I'm from NY picking up in NJ they gave my car to someone else and switched my pick up location to NY. Pretty bummed. Now I'm prob at the back of the line again smh.

Picked up my car yesterday in Fremont. The detailing shop did kind of a poor job and had to be redone. The charge port door doesn’t manually open and the left rear lights aren’t flush. Other than that, it’s a wonderful car! Silky-smooth acceleration and corners on rails!
Congratulations!! I’m so jealous! My delivery day is 2 weeks away. I assume tesla is going fix thise mishaps for you?

1888 line says I still have no IDA, no other info. Called the Portland delivery center and they said no VIN, and thus the car hasn't begun production. Seems a little incredible for a day 1 reservation, early configurer but go figure.

You can get a certified check from your local bank after you ACH the money to yourself. I just ACH'd it to Tesla. It was easier, and my local center pointed out the flaws on the car before I even had a chance to look for them.
Last year, for the S100D, used Tesla ACH to pay from my bank at their store during the delivery, after walk-around. I had flown to Chicago for delivery, left my checkbook in friends' condo. His wife texted a picture of my check so I had the necessary info. We waited a minute or so for the transaction to execute, then continued delivery. Plan to do the same for the 3.
