Took delivery of the car yesterday. At delivery center everything went smooth. I didn't get an extra key that I want to buy. They said card stock ran out.
It is a very cool car. I am getting used to regenerative braking. Like many mentioned in earlier posts I am bit annoyed by the blinkers. It doesn't automatically reset after turns. Seat belts have sharp edges. EAP is functioning.

We had to drive 120 miles to Rocklin CA to pick up the car. ISA never contacted, replied to e-mails or calls. We never given DA's name. At 9:30PM previous night to delivery (was planing to leave Reno NV at 7:00AM next day morning for pickup) we received an e-mail from Sr. Delivery Experience Specialist with DVM documents attached and we are suppose to take a color copy of DMV power of attorney documents signatures witnessed by a notary. We were in panic and finally managed to find a UPS store nearby Rocklin after we reached there.

I don't understand. What is that for? Power of attorney? DMV docs?

Do you have to enter your insurance information before VIN is assigned? Does not entering insurance delay getting a VIN?

I thought you needed a VIN first to get insurance. I have delivery scheduled on 9/29 and no VIN yet.

My current insurance is for an out of state car. I will have to get insurance from a different company for Model 3.

Who left on these forums still doesn’t even have a delivery date?

As in you made a reservation and subsequent deposit but have heard nothing since... Zip. Zero. Zilch.

We need to stick together.

Count me among the unfortunate ranks. Reserved 2/14/18 (so yeah, not nearly as early as you) and ordered 6/29/18. Nothing but crickets from Tesla. I have called Tesla several times and keep getting the same response, just be patient, your time is near.

My vin just showed up in my account today. I have delivery scheduled for 9/28. Vin is 1124XX

Been hearing of a lot of delivery delays but all of them seems to be in other states. Has anyone that is taking delivery at the Fremont factory been delayed? Just want to figure out what the cause of the delays are, are they all transport related? Seems that most people show up and were told the car isn't there.

I'm picking up from Fremont next Thursday.

Here at the Fremont Delivery Center. So excited. Said the wait was maybe 30 min and would take about that long. We drove up via McCarthy Blvd to Fremont Blvd and saw an amazing amount of Tesla Model 3s in a roped off office parking lot. Then even more when we arrived at the DC. Busy here. Won't be long. Can't wait to see all of these driving around. Husband said last night he saw transport trailer sending some off down 101 S.

Well almost ready to drive off. Finished up paperwork and just got temp registration put on car. Nice guy assisting us, gave us time to look over. Very minor things to wipe down basically. Thought our car looked great. No wide gaps. Everything works, lights windows, doors and trunk/frunk. Wow AC is fabulous.

Had them set up both cars on my husband's app on both our phones. Will inquire later about separating accounts but with both cars showing on each. We brought our new Kagu mats with us to put in, so ready to do that and drive off. Great visibility :D:D

Back up camera really impressive and so is audio system. @EVnut hope your delivery went as well as ours! Too many people to even hope to find you. More Teslas and Model 3s than I've ever seen before.

We're inquiring about 2 iPhone connectors. It's $15 to get thru Tesla. Suggested he ask someone else in the parking lot while we're here with lots of owners and success, were able to swap an Android cable for a second iPhone cable. Setting up phone chargers now.

I Looked online it said you have to have your vehicle registered to you before it will show up in your Tesla app. I did not know that
When you say 'registered' to you, do you (or it) mean assigned or actually registered with DMV which begs the question how would they know? But today was the first time I saw the storm cloud or, put differently, in attack from outer space movies where the space ship is descending through the clouds the clouds start to glow..it was kinda like that but black and white. I knew it wouldn't show a car until you signed for it and, presumably the delivery person activates it in your account. I've never seen the no product thing before. Good find though Tricia!

They simply want your insurance company and policy. When I entered that my 2018 policy was in effect and they hadn't auto-renewed it yet. I guess they call as mine mysteriously changed to 2019 expiration even though I never updated it after it auto-renewed.
To your question though, I'd guess yes. Apparently not providing your driver license number puts your account into a pending state. What do you see on that page? There are like 4-5 individual boxes with either a > or black ... in the top right of each of the sections. The ... turns to a ... <- sort of an amber yellowish orange ellipse. If it's amber it is looking for input. In any event what do you see for each of the sections?

Cool! Did they explain how driver profiles work (get set up)? Care to share?

We're Model S owners and watched videos so no need to get in-person tutorial.

We did have Jason, one of the Tesla volunteer helper "Guests", help us install the phone cabling in the car. He had done his already and knew what to do. Little tricks I guess. Our phones have iPhone silicon covers on them so we added some small pieces of cardboard to the area to get the phones to fit properly and connect.

Really nothing else to mention. God I love this car!

There is nothing in the M3 user guide about driver profiles so, presumably, it assumes you owned an S. My old phone was a iPhone 4s which had the non-standard 1.5"x.25" connector. It was pre-lightning. My current phone is usb-c. My wife refuses to have a smart phone. I only have one for the business apps. I am the pre-Facebook/Twitter generation. I don't solicit a "I have 2000 friends but I don't know anybody" pretend circle of friends. There was some preteen or early teen that broke down to her parents when she realized she had no friends at all, her entire social life was fake. Let that sink in.
Where you get two rfid keys, are they different rfids? In other words will the car differentiate you from your husband by the key you use?

Yes, I am stranded on the island of misfit toys, Sakaar, or wherever we are. I'm not too bent out of shape with the delivery window since we're still in the Sep - Nov timeframe, but there is some forum induced anxiety (FIA) around falling through the cracks based on others' experiences. It doesn't help to see non-res holders receiving AWD configs before res holders. What is up with that? A couple here and there to round out a shipment to a particular store where there is just absolutely no res holders in the area maybe, but seems like there are too many for that to be the case.

Maybe it is all just paranoia from FIA syndrome... Orderly! I'd like to go back to my special padded room now. The one with the white interior, the lithium, and the elctro ... aghhhh! (sounds of restraints and a brief flash of sign that reads "TMC: the Tesla Mental Care facility", fade to obsidian black)

Received an email from my new Inside Delivery Advisor based out of Las Vegas (I am in SoCal). I then checked my account and have a VIN assigned. 1123XX! Delivery currently scheduled for 9/26. Ironically, received the Friday night email suggesting that I could get the car home delivered this weekend on a first come first served basis but apparently didn't win the lotto. Hopefully, 9/26 is still the date.

4/1/16 reserved, 6/28 configured.

Can't wait

How's the Parkersburg Super Charger coming along?

I don't believe lack of insurance info holds up your order prior to receiving a VIN.
At least that is what a Tesla phone rep told me.
I don't currently own a car, so I have no insurance policy, and can't really get a new policy, until I have a VIN.

Bad news. Delivery rescheduled from Monday 9/24 to Friday 9/28. There's apparently been a delay trucking the car from Tacoma to the Bellevue DC.

Can't say I'm not surprised but it does still suck to have everything lined up for one day just to have it move. Thankfully it's only a few days and they did confirm the car is actually, physically real.
