Uh... so this just happened. I don’t have my car yet nor has it ever showed up in the app but I just pinged my rep to make sure that the VIN is in fact still associated with my account.

Title, assuming you paid in full for it (not owned by financial institution/credit union) will take time as Title come from the state DMV and it is federally filed. If, by paperwork, you mean MVPA, that, to my understanding, should have been given to you at delivery/closing. If there is a bank/credit union involved THEY retain title as their 'own' the car although you registered it to drive it. Is this your first car?

No, this is not my first car. Thank you for asking. I’ve always leased. Also, our delivery specialist has not responded to one email since our car showed up, unannounced earlier this week to which she replied “oh wow, um I didn’t realize it would be that quick” aka no clue. We do not have a Tesla store in RI and the people who did our car loan, pretty sure this was their first loan with Tesla. So honestly, no one shared with us what to do next.

I had used ACH from a brokerage account through my Tesla account for part of the purchase price a week or so before delivery just to get that out of the way.

Took a blank check with me for ABA and Account Number reference at Devon, PA pickup. During the paperwork process they passed me an iPad. I signed into my Tesla account and used the ACH part to pay the remainder from our bank account. Payment registered in about a minute, my account page showed $0.00 due. Put the blank check in my pocket and we finished the transaction. Made a point of signing out of my account and closing the browser window before getting up from the table.

My friend who supplied his referral code was with me. He got an alert that he earned a referral credit a minute or two later. We saw Steve Moore, my OA. He took a few minutes to straighten out the delivery address for my friend.

Was staying at a friend's condo out of town when I bought the Model S last year. I was so frazzled I left the checkbook behind. His wife was still home. I told her where to find the checkbook. She texted me a photo of the front of the check and I used that for reference.

Great. thank you very much for the details and it sounds like ACH might be a better option for folks like me doing cash. appreciate it. My DA didn't mention ACH and she talked about transfer 48 hours before delivery or wire transfer or cashier's check. Now I know the deal.

Dunno how it works in your state- but here tax, title, registration were fees at purchase and Tesla files the paperwork. You drive off with a 30 day temp tag and wait for the "real" stuff in the mail from the DMV

So RI has no Tesla store. By law, we can’t purchase one from neighboring MA. So we need the paperwork that states it’s never been titled anywhere else. Also we financed through AAA and filled out DMV registration paperwork with them but no one seems to know what to do next. And more importantly, we are getting radio silence from our DS who up until this point, was amazing. So as of 12pm today, we will have had our Tesla for 72 hours and still haven’t been able to drive it. Pure torture.

Anyone in the Northeast order AWD, non performance recently? Curious what the turn around time was, and if delivery can still be had by 12/31.

Still reservation holders and June orders waiting for AWD cars in the east and end of Q4 is going to be crazy, but ramp has improved for AWD. I'd act ASAP if you're interested and realize that you might not get the full tax credit.

Delivery person I spoke to who told me what the west coast inventory looked like.
That is similar to my experience yesterday. West Coast AND Canada. Apparently, for any 'run' or number of days...n cars, are per-ordained to go to a specific section of the map. This may explain people who haven't gotten their car and others who ordered after got theirs, geography. Being on the east coast she specifically said there are no cars being produced now that will ship to east coast.
Anyone who does not follow Teslanomics (Ben Sullins) should. Every Monday he does a YouTube vid. Last weeks mentioned Tesla is making their own car carriers as their complaint is there are not enough to handle their volume. If you let that sit for a bit the distribution 'problems' come into much clearer relief. Well, that and the size of SCs and their ability to handle much more than 18 cars per day deliveries given 30mins per. 18 would be 9 hours. They are already asking for 'expert's help in doing the introduction to the car rather than employees they don't have tied up with answering the myriad of questions, configuring charge cables for phones etc.

Al, that comment wasn't intended to be snark. That you have always leased actually answers my question in the affirmative. So, are you familiar with where the super chargers are off division street in East Greenwich? There will be a SC there, likely mid 2019. If I am not mistaken, your car is being delivered to you? In talking with the folks in Dedham I seem to recall them, Dave or Jeremy, telling me RI customers get their cars delivered to them rather than picked up in Dedham. I have to go to Mt Kisco's Winchester facility in White Plains area of NY. From Google Maps looks like multi-level parking facility. Easiest way is 95 to NY then head NW. sucks as it is 2 1/2 hr in commute windows. My first car sent from Fremont was sent to Dedham and rather than truck it to Mt Kisco they sold it to someone in MA.

Your chances of getting your tesla delivered is inversely proportional to how many times you contact them.
All evidence is actually to the contrary; your chances of getting your car delivered is *directly* proportional to how many times you contact them, at least up to the "once a day" level.

At this point I think it's because you have a chance of getting a competent person who can do something, or a person who can't do anything. The more times you call, the more different people you get, so the higher odds of actually reaching someone who can do something.

Yuck.:(

Once you get someone who actually fixes problems for you, be nice to them, because they're rare...

Ordered 6/28
Original delivery date 9/22 with VIN 9810x
Car was not there on delivery day
No reschedule
Tesla sold my VIN to someone else
Back in line for me...

I hope the person who has my car is enjoying it
I agree with Dan above but, hate to rain on anyone's parade, it's not one's car until you sign for it. At least that seems to be how Tesla handles it. Same thing, btw, happened to me. They sent my car to the closest, but incorrect SC and rather than truck it to the right location or had the right location do the paperwork, they just sold it outright.

Just to finish my stmt on that...
A leasing company holds title as they are the actual owners. I have always bought new except for one lease of an Accura. Even when you finance a 'bought' car, title goes to the bank, finance company ala ToyotaFinanceCo, until you've paid for it then they ship you the title with no lien holders. I've never traded in a leased vehicle but thinking it through you could likely get their title which would show them as lien holder and Tesla, in order to sell the car would have to get clear title themselves, a non-immediate process, or pass it to the auction company but then they would have to clear the title by paying off the lien. I could see for those, regardless of when they reserved, were trading in a car they were still paying on, they'd be placed in the back of the line as Tesla clearly doesn't want more paperwork or to clear titles, not their business plan. Most of that Al was general discussion but, where you lease, it stands to reason you'd never have dealt with titles.
