- Applied for the DCU loan for $60k, because that's what I want to borrow (even from Tesla). Got approved @ 1.24%
- Get VIN &have my payment option changed to Self-Arranged and choose DCU as the lender. Put a $60k loan amount & wait for new MVPA.
- GetupdatedMVPA from Tesla. Upload to DCU.
- Call DCU (wait an hour to talk to somebody during the weekday) and have them push the loan through, & wait for the loan doc to be sent over.
- Have my payment option on my Tesla account changed again, so I can apply for a Tesla loan for $60k.
- Once I receive the loan doc from DCU, submit it to ratematch@tesla and hope for the best.
- Call back DCU (wait another hour) and cancel my auto loan app.
Just Re-Fi into the DCU loan or have the rate match done POST purchase. I believe Telsa will refund you in advance the interest difference.I’m on the west coast and have found waiting for the VIN was too late - DCU has been slower than expected with crazy phone wait times - and Tesla rate match as been close. 1 week on west coast is not enough… wish I started a bit earlier…
I use people pay to do ACH transfers out of DCU to myself. Not that painful, but yes a hassle.DCU online banking is pain. Transferring money from DCU to other bank works on 17th century
methods.
In the age of Zelle / Venmo / Apple Cash, people pay is primitiveI use people pay to do ACH transfers out of DCU to myself. Not that painful, but yes a hassle.
I've also asked my SA to reset my payment option now on my Tesla account so I can apply for a Tesla loan, and I'll apply for the same amount on the DCU loan paperwork. Then I'll submit the DCU loan doc to ratematch@tesla and then hope for the best.
PMedI would greatly appreciate a referral to DCU also.
Thanks in advance!
Auto Loans | DCU Still see reference to 0.25% discount for energy efficient vehiclesDid DCU change their terms today? I no longer see the 1.249 rate - I only see 1.49% with no mention of additional savings due to EV.

That's great..I got approved from DCU when I was not a member and they give me 2.99% for 72 month. It is so hard to contact them to change the rate and term..I updated my steps below, as I didn't need to change my Cash payment option to Self Arranged and put in DCU's info for an updated MVPA.
Instead, I just uploaded the MVPA that I received this morning from Tesla and then called DCU to have them push the loan docs through. They accepted & used the original 'cash' MVPA that Tesla gave me and finalized my DCU loan. I'm just now waiting for the email link to download the doc.
