Blind spot and dash cam feature teased by Elon

So it looks like I’m going to have to finagle a solution so that I can plug in a USB flash drive for the dash cam feature and still have two working phone charging cables at the front. I guess the easiest solution is to find a 12V adapter that I can use for the second USB power connection. Anyone have any good suggestions?

easiest is get a USB power/data splitter

The 12v in the center console will work too but you'd have to route the cable from it somehow.

I've had good luck with this guy for a 12v USB charger-

That’s funny you mentioned that. I was just researching the same thing. I just got the Nomad wireless charger and that takes up both USB ports. I was thinking of a usb dual port cable/adapter where I can plug in one of the adapter ports to the Nomad and plug in a usb stick for the dashcam to the other. Not sure if splitting the one USB port would work?

There were some previous threads on splitters, the only one I saw anybody confirm actually works for data (rather than power) was this one-

Could be others than work too though

Best solution has been posted elsewhere here on TMC. Use the 12V accessory outlet in the rear of the center console to either provide 12V routed up to the front phone area (install a new 12V outlet next to the existing USB ports up front), or insert a 2 port 12V USB adapter (2A per USB port) into the existing 12V accessory outlet, and use USB extension cables to get full power into the phone area. Use the rear power to feed the Nomad. Keep the 2 front USB ports free for your music on 1 flash drive, and the TeslaCam folder (for the front camera) on a 2nd flash drive.
